Golden Square brushed aside Gisborne with a domi- nant second half, winning by 118 points. It was the magnitude of the Storm’s 39th-straight  win that sent shockwav es through the Magpies. Te Storm kicked the rst seven goals of the game on their way to a 22.10 (152) to 7.9 (51) win. For the second week in a row, the Storm’s victory was built around the strength of their defensive structures . Te Magpies had few answers to Stratheldsaye’s zone defence and the Storm swept the ball from half-back to forward 50 eciently. Lachlan Sharp proved to be a major headache for the Castlemaine defence. Te left-footer kicked ve goals in the rst half on his way to a match haul of seven. Storm young gun Harry Conway followed up his best on ground performance in round one with another big game, while Kallen Geary and Jake Moorehead had plenty of the ball. Jarryd Graham, Jackson Hood and Justin Dorward  were best for the M agpies. Meanwhile, midelder  Adam Baird was the star for Golden Square in the Bull- dogs’ big win. Baird kicked six goals as Square won 25.21 (171) to 8.5 (53). Te young Gisborne side took the game right up to Golden Square in the rst half and only trailed by 19 points at the main break. Te eort took its toll and, once the game opened up, Golden Square took com- plete control. Square kicked 12 goals to two in the third quarter and followed up with ve goals to none in the last term. Jack Geary continued his good start to the season,  while centre half-forward Ryan Herring and defender Chris Ryan were also impres- sive. Skipper Jarrad Lynch was best for Gisborne, Eamon McKenna was solid and om  Wood kicked four of his sid e’s eight goals. Trained by George Osborne, Miss Vista was a much-hyped lly going into her second start at Flem- ington on Monday and the baldy-faced sprinter got the job done again to remain unbeaten from two starts. Miss Vista is a bay horse with a white face and four long white socks.
