WHAT IS A CHANTICLEER?Chanticleer (SHAWN-tuh-clear) gives Coastal Carolina one of the most unique nicknames in all of sports. Chanticleer comes from Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales and came to Coastal Carolina when the University was a member of the University of South Carolina system. A Chanticleer is a rooster who rules the barnyard with cunning and wit. His competitiveness never wanes as he battles to the end, using his brains to come out on top every time.

play in the tournament and will join some of the top programs in the nation in this year’s invitational.• Joining CCU will be; Middle Tennessee State, Baylor, Ohio, Mississippi State, Tulane, Villanova and Utah.• CCU will face Middle Tennessee a couple of days before the actual invitational begins, and will open play in the

tournament against Utah.• After the first round games, the rest of the tournament will be filled out depending on who wins and loses.
