BASKETBAL CLUB PARTIZANHistoryThe club was founded on 4 October 1945, as a basketball section of theSports Association of the Central House of the Yugoslav Army. The first club championship of Yugoslavia was held in 1946, and the Partizan team consisted mostly of players fromYugoslav Armybasketball team, which in 1945 won the state championship tournament against teams of Yugoslav republics. KK Partizan officially ceased to be a club of the Army in 1953, since the entire sports society became independent and received the name of Partizan Yugoslav Sports Association (JSD Partizan).

KK Partizan was theEuropean championin 1992 with curiosity of winning the title, although playing all but one of the games (crucial quarter-final game vs.Knorr) on foreign grounds(inMadridsuburbFuenlabrada);FIBAdecided not to allow teams from theformer Yugoslaviato play their home games at their home venues, because of open hostilities in the region. Same year club took national championship and cup, and wonTriple Crown. KK Partizan was not allowed to defend the Euroleague title in the 199293 season, because ofUN sanctions. They also won 3Radivoj Kora Cupsin 1978, 1979 and 1989.KK Partizan has grown into the most famous basketball brand from Serbia and team acclaimed both on the European and World levels. Partizan has earned respect not only by winning and constantly participating in the European competitions, but also thanks to a multitude of its players that have worn the jersey of the National team, the squad who has conquered the world earning fame and trophies for their country.
