5 element compositionO PatternO SymmetryO TextureO Deep Of FieldO Lines
Pattern
There are patterns all around us if we only learn to see them. Emphasizing and highlighting these patterns can lead to striking shots – as can high lighting when patterns are broken.
Symmetry
A symmetrical shot with strong composition and a good point of interest can lead to a striking image – but without the strong point of interest it can be a little predictable.
Texture
Images a two dimensional thing yet with the clever use of ‘texture’ they can come alive and become almost three dimensional.
Deep Of Field
The depth of field that you select when taking an image will drastically impact the composition of an image.
Lines
Leading lines refers to a composition technique whereby the viewer's eye is attracted to lines that lead directly to the principle subject in the image
Rule Of Third (RO3)O What is RO3?
“The rule of thirds is a guideline which applies to the process of composing visual images such as designs, films, paintings, and photographs” - Wikipedia
RO3
The Rule of Thirds is a guideline for composition that suggests placing key graphic elements along lines which divide your image into thirds, or at the intersections of those lines.

ExposureO 3 types of ExposureWhat is ISO?
“ISO is the level of sensitivity of your camera to available light. The lower the ISO number, the less sensitive it is to the light, while a higher ISO number increases the sensitivity of your camera.” – photographylife blog
ISO
The difference is clear – the image on the right hand side at ISO 3200 has a lot more noise in it, than the one on the left at ISO 200.
ExposureO What is Aperture?
“A hole that light passes through on its way through the lens. The photographer controls the size of this hole.” - Markray
Aperture
Apertures are sometimes called "f-stops"
Exposure O What is Shutter Speed?
“shutter speed or exposure time is the length of time a camera's shutter is open when taking a photograph”- Wikipedia
Shutter Speed
CropO What is Cropping?
