You will review the test tubes and additives, proper order of draw, practice basic venipuncture techniques using the evacuated tube system and the winged-infusion set (butterfly), and LOTS MORE! Who Should Attend? Practicing healthcare professionals who wish to review the basic venipuncture techniques and national guidelines to enhance practice and patient care. Workshop Objectives: Relate the mode of action and the importance of the additives and anticoagulants in the test tubes. Demonstrate the correct order of draw. Demonstrate the procedure for collecting blood with the evacuated tube system and the winged infusion set (butterfly) system.
