Factory Calibration

• Calibration is the last stage of production and quality assurance

• All new flowmeters are calibrated and adjusted

• Adjustment between measurement result and specification

• Electronic correction at two points (zero/max)

• At zero zero point adjustment

Factory calibration of flowmeters

• During calibration, a fluid flows through the device under test.

• The output signal of the device under test is compared to the signal of a reference (scales,

volume, master) and any deviation is determined.

• The measurement result is indicated on a calibration certificate (SCS) provided with the

instrument (paper) and on a CD; and archived in a database.

• What is the benefit of a worldwide calibration concept?

By providing a worldwide calibration concept our customers are assured that

their flowmeter are always calibrated to the same perfection independent of the

manufacturing site.

This is also important for all recalibration and verification services performed at

our manufacturing sites.

• What is the benefit of a traceable calibration?

Only traceability ensures that the calibration is verified against the relevant

national standard.

Additionally we are the only flowmeter manufacturer offering compliance to the

international standard ISO 17025 for all calibration rigs.

What’s all the hype about?

• What is the benefit of an accreditation?

Accreditation means the formal recognition of the technical and organizational

competence of E+H to execute calibration services as described in the scope of

accreditation. Competence is the key to transparency, confidence and

comparability.

Accreditation means that the performance and traceability of our calibration

rigs are regularly supervised by the relevant national accreditation authority

(i.e. third-party approval).

What influences the accuracy of a Coriolis flow meter

• Density and viscosity of liquid is different from the liquid used for calibration

=> can be compensated by zero point adjustment

• Disbalances of the measuring system due to coating or abrasion

=> can be compensated by zero point adjustment

• Operating pressure different from pressure at calibration

=> effect is very small and pressure compensation possible

• Operating temperature different from temperature at calibration

=> compensate by zero point adjustment.

• Pipe line loads might deform the measuring system and influence the accuracy

of the meter

• Disbalances of measuring system by entrained gas.

=> effect is erratic no real compensation possible.
