Overview of Technology
Caption Colorado utilizes IP audio and video streaming technologies to deliver audio to the Real
Time Captioner and captions to the CC Broadcast Encoder. This requires installation and
configuration of the Customer Control Console (CCC) computer at the customer site.
The following diagram is an overview of how this is accomplished:

The following equipment and services must be available on site:
For IP captioning and audio:
1RU Rack Mounted Server (Minimum Specs Below)
o Windows 7 64 bit
o At least 500 GB HD
o 8 GB Ram
o i5 Intel Processor 3.0GHz
o RS232 Serial Port
o Blackmagic DeckLink Duo Video Card
o 3.5 mm Stereo Input
o Redundant Power Supply
Internet Connectivity to the CCC Computer
o 10/100 Ethernet Connection, RJ45
o (1) Statically assigned Public IP (WAN IP) address per CCC
appliance
o WAN Internet access with the following open ports
TCP ports 80, 888, 443, 10300 and 10302
UDP port 10301
Power to the CCC Computer
o 2 x Standard utility power, NEMA 5-15 (15 A/125 V
grounded)
An Audio source to the CCC Computer
o 3.5 mm stereo Mini cable -or-
o TOSLink Optical Audio Cable
An SD or HD SDI Video feed from the CC Encoder’s output monitor
feed (Blackmagic Design DeckLink Duo Preferred)
1 x Open full size 1RU equipment rack bay
A Closed Captioning broadcast encoder with available RS232 Serial
DB9 connection
