The Barrio Logan Nighttime Noise Study is using machine monitors, in-person surveys, and an online survey to learn more about noise at night in the neighborhood.
The collected information will help figure out what we can do to reduce nighttime noise and improve the quality of life for Barrio Logan residents.
Nighttime noise is a neighborhood issue that affects quality of life, including mental and physical health. The Port of San Diego commissioned the Barrio Logan Nighttime Noise Study to identify nighttime noise sources and prepare the Port of San Diego, City, and maritime industry to work with the community to find ways to decrease nighttime noise.
The study will discover if nighttime noise is being made by shipyard and maritime operations, interstate freeway traffic, railway activity, on-road diesel trucks, construction activity, downtown activity, and other nearby operations or events.
PUBLIC MEETINGSThe Barrio Logan Nighttime Noise Study will be discussed at Barrio Logan Community Planning Group Meetings, held at Woodbury University, 2212 Main Street, San Diego, CA 92113. Tentative dates are October 16 and November 20. Meetings start at 6 pm.
The final study will be presented to the Board of Port Commissioners in 2020.

El Estudio de Ruido Nocturno Barrio Logan está utilizando monitores de máquinas, encuestas en persona y en línea para obtener más información sobre el ruido nocturno en el vecindario.
