RECAP: HOW WE STAYED CONNECTED THIS MONTH

musical dress-up ... who wore it better?

THIS MONTH’S heart heroHOSPITALITY, EXCELLENCE, APPRECIATION, RESPECT, TEAMWORK

ANGIE HAYNES was born Feb. 25, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has an older brother and two younger sisters. Growing up she enjoyed hanging out with her friends. Her best childhood memory is when she showed dairy cattle through 4-H and becoming the Butler County Dairy Queen of the fair. Angie attended school at Ursuline and went on to receive her nursing degree of the University of Cincinnati.

Angie has three wonderful children: Emily, Ben and Rachel. Her best adult memory, thus far, has been the week she received her nursing board results. She got her passing results, had a nice relaxing vacation to Gatlinburg with her husband, enjoyed a winning Notre Dame football with her parents at the stadium and then found out she was pregnant with her first child a month later.

Angie is most influenced by her dad who exhibits a giving kind heart, along with lots of wisdom. The most fascinating place she has visited was a trip to Ireland with her grandparents when she graduated 8th grade. The castles, culture and green space left memories of a lifetime. She also found driving on the opposite side of the road, very unique. Her grandparents came over on a boat from Ireland and started the tradition of the family participating in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. So each year they get dressed up in their Irish colors and decorate their cars and join in the parade. One thing most people do not know about Angie is that she collects children’s books. One thing she could not live without is music — she loves all kinds! The most important innovation she has witnessed in her lifetime is the creation of various antibiotics. If she could do another job for just one day, she would like to work with Oprah Winfrey — she’s inspiring. If she could tell herself something at age 13 she would say “Until you spread your wings, you will have no idea how far you can fly.” If she had to eat one meal for the rest of her life, it would be goetta and eggs. Angie is happiest when her children come over for dinner. Her favorite movie is “The Goodbye Girl” and her favorite quote is “Be Brave, Be Kind, Be Grateful.”

Angie’s favorite part of working here at the Barrington is seeing all the residents and staff, and making a positive difference in their day. If she could switch jobs with anyone, it would be Jess, so she could work along side Tracy. :) She defines success as when you have God in your life, you have everything. Her words of wisdom are “Don’t rely on others for your happiness. Only you can do that.”
