Golden Beach

‘Golden Beach’ was my Master project followed by the final diploma part ‘Golden Beach, the night experience’. It is a conceptual project with a long process, which I have done with supervision of David Greene, Andrew Holmes, Jonathan Hagos and Declan Molloy. I was looking for an androgy-nous space with contrasting qualities with exchanged chracteristics. Through studies and experiments with many physical models, materials and environments I created a specific material for the Golden Beach. The project was set on the typical grey english seeside, which has its own history and life. As the contrast I created a space with its own shine, iluminated, working together with the sun and changing colours during the day . It is an architectural project, presented with different media, still and moving pictures to cre-ate an experience of a space without the usu-al lines on the paper. To keep people on theseeside even at night, after sunset and to make them part of the beach, to become the sand or the light, the project ‘the night experi-ence’ followed and was presented as a short movie.

Aim of the movie:

The aim of the movie is to explain what is happening on the Golden Beach after the sun goes down.

It shows what is happening there in the dark, at night and it is supposed to show the atmosphere

after the sunset. It shows why people come at night

and what is there to keep them excited about the Golden Beach at night.

The viewer shoudl feel the connectionbetween the visitor and

the actual space of the Beach. The visitor becomes part of

the Golden Beach thanks to the reflextion of the golden light. Parts of the body are changing and becoming

parts of the beach The viewer should feel the calmness and quietness

of the night and get lost in the dreamlike experienceof the golden light coming

out of the empty darkness of the night.The movie shows the story of ‘Her’, the visitor of the Golden Beach,

and her experience of the first night there.The story folo ws the short movie ‘Memories of the Golden Beach.

She entered the Golden Beach and meet with a friendthat was already waiting for her.

Her body starts to change as little pieces of lightare touching her skin.

Voiceover:

The movie shows two friends meeting on the Golden Beach exchanginga short dialogue after one was waiting for a long time. The dialogueshould capture the quiete and calm atmosphere of the night and bring

the viewer to start looking.

American frozen yoghurt served with fresh fruit from the grandmas garden and bisquits filled with italian

icecream in small takaway boxes.

Project “Della nonna” was a team work for the course of Food Experience Design in Milano. We were sup-posed to design a restaurant for a specific food suppliers of frozen meet and premade icecream.Since people in Italy do not trust products which are not fresh, the mission was to bring them the idea that this meet is actualy better then the fresh one, thanks to the special method of freez-ing. We used the idea of the nonna (grandmum), which has a special place in italian kitchen and tryed to bring the experience of the grand-mum cooking for you in the restaurant. Not only the design of the place but also its market-ing was very importan and had to be different then other typical ialian restaurants and had

to be able to be repeated as a chain product.

American burger in italian pa-ninni with healthy vegetable and typical italian soups served in a special takeaway boxes and cups were supposed to bring back the

trust for the preprepared food.

Pens ion & Res taurant Cerveny Mos tProject was finished in 20120 and it was a bachelor degree project. It is a small fam-ily pensionwith a self con-tained restaurant and a small shop with sport equipments for the touristic surrounding. The building contains of three sep-arate cuboids which are stock on each other and moved in cer-tain angle which creates wide terasses with beautiful views, There is a reception and breac-fast bar on the first floor and administration ofices and the shop accesible from the back of the building. Rooms and small welness are located on the lower ground floor, which covers them from the noice of the reilwaiy bridge located in close area. On the top floor there is a restaurant with a beautiful view on the sur-rounding nature. The situation of the building and its form was designed and adjusted to the loud and busy environment

There are two separate entrances on the ground floor, one for the visitors, one for the stuff and artists. There is a reception and small cafee with the book shop completely open to the terace.

On the second floor there is a separate appartment for the artist, if he creates an exhibi-tion right on the place and the rest an open exhibition space connected with the first floor.

First floor is also separetad for visitors and stuff, there are offices and meeting room and the rest is and open exhi-bition space which is varied according to the containers.

Project of the Street art gallery was finished in 2009. It is locat-ed in the Old port in Bratislava surounded by the river Donau from three sides. This place is cur-rently filled with old containers, cranes and onther huge mechanisms and has a n industrial feeling. This feeling remains in the design of the simple steel frame with in-serted containers, which can be removed and placed in any part of the frame and opened in any di-rection, which creates a variety of open spaces for the exhibi-tion. This also allows the art-ist to create the instalation in any part of the world and ship the container back to Bratislava.

Project of a horse farm, fin-ished in 2009. Spacious area for stables and hippodromes, for short rides as well as a longer stay for camps or school trips. It is also used as a place for hipotherapy for disabled chil-dren. The whole object is devi-ded in 3 parts. First build-ing is a n accomodation with a restaurant with a beautiful view. Second building are sta-bles and storages and in the third object there are hippo-dromes.All this separate build-ings are linked together with clean operation of visitors as well as the stuff. Project of the Lomography store was done in 2009. Lomgraphy shop is a brand with several shops around the world and they have theyr own “brand design” with all the pictures on the wall which needed to be followed in this project as well. With that situated on the ceiling and a back wall it makes this small space look longer. The rest of the space is light and luminous as a contrast to the colorful pictures. Inside of the store there is a small gallery, ex-hibition place for analog/lomo pictures as well as a calm place for a coffe where you can look at books and magazines. Part of the store is also a dark

room for developing the films.

Art in Architecture was a project of a gallery for specific artis, inspired and influenced by his work and the outcome was a print on canvas. The artist Rene Magritte is famous for his “magritte sky” and illusions of pictures in the pictures. Concept of the gallery of Rene Magritte is based on his perception of the reality. It is a simple object, cuboid, which is placed in a simple surrounding but witch anrealistic changed proportions. The media facade serves at night as a mirror of his work, the magritte sky, and you can watch it as a picture in the picture through a hole in the glass in shape of his famous bird over the ocean. The exhibition was held in 2010.
