History

Nangalao established its first barangay at Sitio Sabang under the municipality of Coron

until the early part of 1956. From 1956 up to the present it was transferred to its present site.

This barangay is located at the north east of Linapacan town proper and surrounded by

Magranting and Na-nga islands. It has an approximated distance of 30 kilometers from the

town proper. It is identified as one of the fishing grounds of this municipality and host to

seasonal and migrating fishermen. Eighty percent (80%) of its present population are Visayans

and the remaining twenty percent (20%) are Cuyunons.

Barangay Nangalao is the second populated barangay (next to Barangay San Miguel) of

Linapacan, Palawan
