Background
Born on 4th August 1961 in Honolulu Hawaii.
Mother : Stanley Ann Dunham; A white American from Kansas.
Father : Barack Obama Sr. from Kenya.
Parents Mother : Ann Dunham

Early life Born in Kapiʻolani Maternity & Gynecological
Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii, He is the first President to have been born in
Hawaii. Obama's parents met in 1960 in a Russian class
at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. The couple married on February 2, 1961,
Separated when his mother moved with her newborn son to attend the University of Washington. In June 1962 attend graduate school at Harvard University .
His parents divorced in March 1964.Obama Sr. returned to Kenya in 1964 where he remarried; he visited Barack in Hawaii only once, in 1971.
He died in an automobile accident in 1982 and Ann died on 1995 for Cancer
At age 6, Obama attended schools in Indonesia, the
first a Catholic School and later a public school.
In 1971, at age 10, Barack Obama moved to Hawaii to his grandparents. He was on the second string of the state champion basketball team his senior year.
He wrote a poem for the school's literary magazine, Ka Wai Ola.
Early Education
College Education Then Obama moved to Los Angeles in 1979 to
attend Occidental College. In February 1981, he made his first public
speech, calling for Occidental's divestment from South Africa.
Then transferred to Columbia University in New York, which he graduated from in 1983.
Non-Political Employment
In 1984 Obama worked as a writer and financial analyst for Business International Corporation.
He also served as a professor at the University of Chicago Law School for twelve years as a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996, and as a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004, teaching constitutional law.
1984-1988, Community Organizer
• In 1984, Obama was hired by the New York Public Interest Research Group.
• He also was paid just under $10,000 annually as a full-time organizer for Harlem's City College to mobilize student volunteers.
• From 1985-88, Obama worked as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago.
• He helped Loretta Herron gain city approval for a local community job center.
Obama as a Lawyer
He went on to earn his law degree from Harvard in 1991.
He became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review.
Returned to Chicago to practice as a civil rights lawyer and teach constitutional law.
In 1991, Obama accepted a two-year position as Visiting Law and Government Fellow at the University of Chicago Law School to work on his first book.

On October 9, 2009 Barack H. Obama became the third sitting U.S. President to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples“. Obama stated that he was "surprised and deeply humbled" to receive the unexpected award.
