More than 25 authors aredue to attend where theywill be available to chat andtalk about their work.

Barry library customerservice manager AlisonSingleton said: The themeof the day is to get as manyauthors who wish to cometo mix with other authorsandthe publicto bringalongtheir books so they can besold on the day and signed.

Scouts in plea over big fete gather-BARRY Scouts and Guidesare urging members of thepublic and local businessesto support this years annualfeteat RomillyPark on Satur-day, July 5, after bad weathercancelled the 2012 event.

It costs almost 10,000 tostage the fete and if hit bythe weather, almost 10% ofannual running costs couldbe lost.

Fete chair Cathie Steelesaid: Despit e t he n ic eweather last year, the ScoutsandGuides inthe districtarestill suffering from the lossof income from the previousyears fete which involvedhaving to use reserves tomaintain their normal pro-gramme of activities.

This year, more than everwe need support via spon-sors, patrons and on the day.

Gates open at 12 noon andwill be via a lucky draw pro-gramme, costing 2, whichcan be purchased from allScout and Guide groups or

on the day at the gates. Chil-dren under five go free. Eachprogramme purchased isentered into a draw, with thefollowing prizes: 1st, 250;2nd, 50; 3rd, 25; 4th, 20 giftvoucher for Cadwaladers IceCream Ltd; 5th, Barrybadosgift set.
