Introduction & ScopeFinance: EUROPEAN BANKS

We will be covering 6 banks and 1 broker within the Nordic Region.

By covering, we mean that Goldman Sachs is maintaining a recommendation on the stock and estimates for the results. It also means that we regularly publish notes and occasionally publish reports on the company. The initiation will be done with a report, likely 40-50 pages where all the banks will be described thoroughly and new estimates will be introduced.

It is a collective term used for the five nation-states in Northern Europe.

Problem Definition

• To study the impact of changes in Consensus Estimates on the Stock Prices

• Understanding the extent to which the share prices are driven by the macroeconomic factors.

Proposed Methodology

• Understanding the European and specifically Nordic Banking Sector

• Understanding the specific Nation States within Nordic region and their economies*

• Data Collection: From a number of Sources like GS Quantum**, TiGR**, and various other publicly available databases & archives.

• Data Collation: This might be quite challenging because of Separate Benchmarks for each of the countries

• Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis

• Report

Likely Contributions

Tentatively, this Project will be largely be my responsibility with assistance & guidance from other analysts who have been involved with the Nordic Banking Sectors for quite a while now
