Introducing Malaysia, a melting pot of the finest that Asia has to offer, strategically combined with global standards and an international outlook.
EXTRAORDINARY EVENTS BEGIN WITH AN EXTRAORDINARY DESTINATION.
Your event is hosted in enchanting Malaysia, the gateway to all of Asia. Malaysia,
a tropical paradise at the tip of South East Asia, offers visitors their first taste
of Asia’s most dominant cultures. People of Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous
heritage live together embracing a uniquely Malaysian lifestyle that celebrates
differences.
Malaysia is truly a land of contrasts. Its attractions range from scenic landscapes
of lush rainforests and crystal blue oceans to quaint little villages featuring wooden
huts on stilts, with its cityscapes consisting of smart skyscrapers and multiplexes
that house global corporations, international retail brands and luxurious high rise
homes. The Malaysian cuisine too has gained worldwide fame for its enticing
tastes, flavours, textures and smells birthed by an eclectic mix of traditional Malay,
Chinese and Indian gastronomical delights.
Malaysia is easily one of the most travel friendly countries in the region. Global
languages like English and Mandarin are widely spoken and extensive travel
services are available at hand…
3
WEATHERAs an equatorial country, Malaysia enjoys a tropical climate year round with
temperatures fluctuating from 21ºC to 32ºC at sea level, while temperatures at
higher elevations range from 15°C to 25°C . Annual rainfall varies from 2,000mm
to 2,500mm. The wet season on the west of the peninsula (Apr-Oct) brings
thunderstorms in the afternoons, but these are usually brief, and the odd downpour
is a welcome way to reduce the humidity. The east coast however tends to have a
heavier wet season and is best avoided during the rainy period (Nov-Feb). During
these months, many of the beach resorts close, re-opening in March.
CURRENCYLicensed Money changers are based in most shopping malls in cities and operate
from 10.00am to 10.00pm throughout the week. Money changing services are also
provided 24/7 at most hotels.
HEALTH SERVICESIn case of a medical emergency, public and private healthcare centres of international
standards are located within easy reach.
CREDIT CARDSAll major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shopping malls.
Cash advances against all major credit cards too can be made at most banks while
cash withdrawals can be made on payments cards bearing the Cirrus, Plus and
MAESTRO logos at Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of banks throughout the
country.
TRANSPORTATIONMalaysia is supported by a well-established infrastructure system consisting of a
comprehensive network of expressways that facilitate smooth intra-city and inter-
state road travel. Public transportation consist of taxis, express trains and light
rail transit. Extensive air travel networks covering both domestic and international
routes are also available.
Connexion Conference & Event Centre (CCEC) is strategically located at the
heart of Kuala Lumpur, a cosmopolitan Asian metropolis which aspires to be a
world class city by 2020. Featuring infrastructure of international standards, Kuala
Lumpur supports a demanding business and social lifestyle and plays a key role in
the fast growing ASEAN region.
Live, Work and Play is the mantra of most KLites as they balance the drive and
ambition that come with living in a city as progressive as Kuala Lumpur. The city
plays host to strong corporate and service sectors and complements its status as a
leading city of business and commerce with equally vibrant recreational offerings.
Shopping, dining and clubbing are just a few ways KLites choose to unwind.
AT THE HEART OF MALAYSIA LIES KUALA LUMPUR, A FAST-PACED YET FRIENDLY METROPOLIS FEATURING THE FINEST CULINARY, RETAIL AND ENTERTAINMENT OPTIONS.
5
Kuala Lumpur’s many attractions draws thousands of tourists each year. Amongst her most frequently visited landmarks are:
Petronas Twin Towers – These iconic towers of steel and
glass bearing Islamic motifs stand majestically in Kuala Lumpur’s
city centre. At a height of 451.9 metres, the linked 88-storey twin
structure is regarded as Kuala Lumpur’s crown jewel. A skybridge
at 170metres which symbolises a gateway to the future connects
the two towers and provides a stunning vantage point of Kuala
Lumpur.
Merdeka Square is the historical site where Malaya’s
independence from colonial rule was declared in 1957. It was at
Merdeka Square that the Union Jack Flag was lowered and the
Malayan flag was raised for the very first time. Today a flagpole
bearing the flag of Malaysia stands tall on the square.
Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is 20.9 acre public aviary located in
the serene and scenic Lake Gardens. It is the world’s largest Free-
flight, Walk-in aviary. It is the home to more than 3,000 birds of
approximately 200 species of local and foreign birds. Based on
its free-flight concept, birds are let free in the aviary which closely
resembles their natural habitat and are able to breed naturally in
this unique environment.
Bintang Walk is regarded as Kuala Lumpur’s trendiest shopping
and entertainment district. It covers Jalan Bukit Bintang and its
surrounding areas and features stretches of shopping centres, five-
star hotels, restaurants and clubs. Viewed as the fashion capital
of the country, Bintang Walk features upscale malls carrying
international fashion brands. The nightlife at Bintang Walk is also
legendary amongst locals, particularly around the Changkat Bukit
Bintang area where there is a concentration of exciting nightspots.
Aquaria KLCC is an oceanarium that showcases over 5,000 fish
and other types of marine life from Malaysia and different parts of
the world. It is located in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre area. Visitors
to KLCC are taken on an aquatic journey that charts the flow of
natural waters from the highlands to rivers and deep seas and also
get to enjoy spectacular views of divers feeding sharks.
