Pep Band News

Football Season Friday’s home Senior Night Game on October 10 will mark the end of our regular

season football pep band. Congratulations to the band on a very successful sea-

son and to our football playing band members: Victor Albaine, Landon Diekhoff,

Kellen Thomas, Brent Koughn, and Spencer Kuehl!

I will be in contact with Coach Moore and get the word out as soon as we know if

we will be performing at any home sectional games.

Basketball is Upon Us! With the 2nd quarter comes the beginning of basketball season! Our official pep

band calendar is still under administrative review, but I will be uploading a tenta-

tive calendar to the website soon. The group will be divided into two bands: Blue

Band and White Band, with the rivalry games being “All Calls.” Our first home

game will be a Blue Band game on Friday, November 14, Girls vs. Franklin. Go

Veteran’s Day Parade On Tuesday, November 11 the

Band of Pirates will be participat-

ing in the Greensburg Rotary Club

Veteran’s Day Parade.

The parade begins at 5:00pm with

line-up beginning at 4:30pm. We

will be wearing uniforms for the

parade, so students should plan to

be at the high school between 3:45

and 4:00 to get their instruments,

music, and uniform.

If you would like to donate water or

snacks for the students after the

parade, please let Ms. Thurman

know.

Fall Concert October 30 Mark your calendars! The GCHS Band Halloween Concert is just a few weeks

away! The concert begins at 7:00pm in the GCHS Auditorium. Students, please

be in the band room ready to warm up no later than 6:30pm.

Everyone is invited to wear costumes to the concert to get into the Halloween spir-

it. We would also like to set up trick or treating for kids to take part in after the con-

cert. If you would like to donate candy or volunteer to pass out candy, please let

Ms. Thurman know!

In preparation for the concert, we will be having two more after school combined

rehearsals. These are posted on the Calendar on our website. They are October

23 from 3:00-4:00 and October 28 from 5:00-6:00pm. All athletes have been ex-

cused from practice for these rehearsals (thanks coaches!).

Who’s That Pirate? Each month, the newsletter will feature information about one of our band mem-

bers. See if you can figure out who the secret pirate is!

Always barefoot, this pirate plays an instru-ment that used to belong to her mom.
