Welcome to the sunny month of May!

Behind us is yet another successful month of events, sports and funfilled memories. The month of April started with the hit English movieAvatar screened on the 10th. The turnout was good and everybody enjoyed the evening immensely.

Chithirai Thiruvizah was celebrated on the 13th and the special menu and entertainment was a big hit. Members also came in on the next day for a round of Tambola, which was a great way to spend the weekend.

The Lightning tennis tournament on the 17th April was a huge hit, followed by cocktails and dinner.

The new Hindi move, ‘ My name is Khan’ was enjoyed by large group of club members along with special refreshments!

The Bumper tambola on the 28th was a huge success.

The patisserie, ‘Parfait 3’ with its fresh breads, deliciouspastries, fresh smoothies, cookies and much more has finally arrived at the club, situated next to the library, the room space which was not utilized for more than 2 years has been put to good use. It is the perfect place for all extra goodies.

All the activities at the club to a large extent are dependent on the dedication and hard work of our Staff. We are fortunate to enjoy the benefit in the quality and loyalty of our staff, many of them are long serving. On May Day we honoured all the em-ployees who have put in 25 years of service with a small gift and certificate of appreciation. With Regards and Best wishes,

BADMINTON COACHING It was a resounding success. We have 32 entries both in the juniors and seniors category. We plan to start a specialized coaching and guidance camp soon.

Classes in shuttle for a smaller group on a monthly basis planned. We will keep you posted once the final details are worked out.

BAKERY AND CONFECTIONERY - OVEN FRESH

18th April 2010 - Presidency Club’s very own bakery Oven Fresh was inaugurated by our President Mr.Ranjit Jacob.

Pastries, smoothies, deserts and a whole range of breads and lots of delicious goodies are available at our bakery. The timings are from 12 noon to 10.30 pm all days.

The traditional mela on 13th April 2010 was a huge success. The entire club wore a festive look with special lighting arrangements at the lawn and other areas. Mr. Rangan and group

from Hyderabad entertained the members with golden melodies of Tamil, Hindi and other south Indian languages. Prizes were distributed to best dressed members.

A month back, I got a call from my daughter, who said that there was a small swelling at the base of her neck, I rushed her to the doctor , who diagnosed it as LYMPM GLAND SWELLING, confused and angry that this would happen to my blood, I suddenly remembered my sister in law talking about the sudden boom in LYMPHATIC MASSAGE in Australia, I decided to go deeper into this aspect and am now learning the process., hoping to become a Theraphist.

I thought it would be nice to put this in writing and make people aware of this new technique.

What is LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE?This helps in promoting an healthy lymphatic system in an holistic manner.

The lymphatic system is a complex network of vessels and ducts that move fluid throughout the body and is responsible for moving toxins away from healthy cells and carrying germ-fighting materials to cells when they are under attack by viruses. Though fluid moves through the lymphatic system, it does not have its own pumping mechanism. Lymphatic drainage is a type of therapy that is intended to help the body produce a free-flowing lymphatic system.

Blockage of this system leads to swelling and since the lymph has no way of pumping out the toxins, , which affect the white blood cells leading to various problems in the body like:

The drainage is done manually by applying pressure on certain lymph nodes and for some it has given a remarkable relief from allergies, menstrual cramps, colds and other viruses

While lymphatic drainage is about preventative health care and is considered safe, physical symptoms, such as swollen glands, can indicate a problem with the lymphatic system and should be evaluated by a physician.

In addition to the drainage, some research has also been conducted to educate people to avoid tight fitting clothes, reduction in stress and last but not the least a HEALTHY DIET.
