The Baker Hughes 9 5 /8-in. Onyx 10E (P)erformance subsurface safety valve for big bore applications helps you maximize production rates while reducing completion costs. This surface-controlled tubing- retrievable safety valve (TRSV) is part of the Onyx series, which is based on the successful Baker Hughes T-Series valves. The Onyx 10E valve combines a sophisticated, patented closure mechanism and premium housing threads to produce the industry’s first TRSV with full-opening production in smaller casing sizes. Benefits are lower cost of a smaller, slimline outside diameter (OD) casing; flexibility in completions design; and increased production typical of larger tubing sizes. The Onyx 10E valve also allows broader application coverage while running capillary lines for downhole instrumentation or chemical injection, and cables for electric submersible pump operation. Dual completions can also be installed. Offering maximum value combined with unsurpassed reliability, Baker Hughes introduced the industry’s first 7-in. (177.8-mm) TRSV that can fit inside a 9 5 /8-in. (244.4-mm) casing with cable bypass capabilities. Additionally, Baker Hughes introduced the industry’s first 4½-in. (114.3-mm) TRSV to fit inside a 7-in. (177.8-mm) casing. The Onyx 10E valve incorporates a nonelastomeric dynamic seal assembly for pressure and temperature exceeding 28,000 psi (1,930.5 bar) and 450°F (232°C), ensuring reliable strength and sealing capabilities in the most extreme conditions. Applications Big bore completions Features and Benefits Pressure rating Offers 10,000 psi working pressure in big bore, gas production, and high-flow-rate applications Smaller casing programs Reduce completion costs Slimline OD Allows larger tubing without sacrificing the full opening for maximized production Baker Hughes RBT housing seals, a two- step metal-to-metal sealing system Strengthens and seals under the harshest conditions 100% metal-to-metal seal technology Ensures containment of wellbore fluids when the valve is in the closed position Nonelastomeric dynamic seal assembly Withstands pressures and temperatures exceeding 28,000 psi and 450°F High-strength curved flapper Resists high impact loads in high-flow-rate applications Ability to run capillary lines Enables downhole-submersible-pump or dual-completion operations Allows broader application coverage Through-the-flapper self-equalizing system Provides high integrity seal without the conventional failure modes (open position) (closed position) 9 5 /8-in. TRANSCRIPT

  • The Baker Hughes 95/8-in. Onyx 10E (P)erformance subsurface safety valve for big bore applications helps you maximize production rates while reducing completion costs. This surface-controlled tubing-retrievable safety valve (TRSV) is part of the Onyx series, which is based on the successful Baker Hughes T-Series valves.

The Onyx 10E valve combines a sophisticated, patented closure mechanism and premium housing threads to produce the industrys first TRSV with full-opening production in smaller casing sizes.

Offering maximum value combined with unsurpassed reliability, Baker Hughes introduced the industrys first 7-in. (177.8-mm) TRSV that can fit inside a 95/8-in. (244.4-mm) casing with cable bypass capabilities. Additionally, Baker Hughes introduced the industrys first 4-in. (114.3-mm) TRSV to fit inside a 7-in. (177.8-mm) casing. The Onyx 10E valve incorporates a nonelastomeric dynamic seal assembly for pressure and temperature exceeding 28,000 psi (1,930.5 bar) and 450F (232C), ensuring reliable strength and sealing capabilities in the most extreme conditions.
