We have raised in excess of $11,000 which is absolutely FANTAS- TIC!!!!! It was the most successful fair we have ever had!! The team of organisers connued to work relessly last week organising everything for the night and we were so lucky with the weather on Friday which helped. I would like to especially thank the small team of work- ers who were here at the school all day on Friday dur- ing the day as well as Friday night to set up and run this very successful event. I would also like to thank the Lile family that set up the fun rides on our oval for an extremely low cost and for donang the fairy floss, snow cones and popcorn. WORKING BEE: The children, teachers and parents who came along did a great job of cleaning and dying our school in prepa- raon for the Fair. Thank you to each of you for your contribuon. In such a small amount of me it certainly made a huge difference. TRANSITION: Today we had our second Prep 2016 transion session, as well as our whole school transion at the same me. This gives all students a chance to have a go of what it is like to be at the next level but also a chance for the children to meet some of the children who MIGHT be in their room next year. The teacher that they were with for this session does NOT necessarily mean that’s who they will be with for next year. This has not been deter- mined as yet. The reason for these sessions is for the children to get to know others and also that change is okay. Staffing for 2016 has not been finalised at this stage. LOST PROPERTY: We currently have a huge amount of lost property out- side the staffroom. If your child has lost anything this second half of the year please make some me to have a good look. The items are not named which makes it very difficult to find its owner. APPOINTMENT OF PRIMARY WELFARE WORKER FOR 2016: We have appointed Ms Olivia Whitehead to the part me posion of Primary Welfare worker for next year. I am sure everyone must have enjoyed the GDPS Twilight Fair. On Monday, children decided to continue with

creating artistic placemats for the Meals on Wheels program along with playing dodge ball as a group.

On Beautiful Tuesday, most of them enjoyed playing outdoors on the playground and sports equipment. Wonder-

ful Wednesday was a creative day where a few children chose to do stick art while others engaged in the dra-

matic play of being dinosaurs. Also, we enjoyed scoring football goals outdoors along with riding bikes/scooters.

Terrific Thursday was being innovative and thoughtful with making the best out of waste recycled products. Chil-

dren engaged in creating a city using recycled cartons and cardboards. A few others were imaginative and creat-

ed castles. Fun Friday was super exciting for the children due to the Twilight Fair. We moved to the art room and

the children decided to play with board games. Thereafter, the children wanted to walk around to see the fair, so

we all had great discussions about things we saw at the fair. Have a lovely week ahead!!!! Priya

WALK TO SCHOOL MONTH.

Thank you to all the students who supported walk to school month. We had fantastic results with nearly 80% of students walking at least once to school. Congratulations to 3/4W who had 100% partic-ipation. Well done. To the students who entered the Walk to School photo and story competition, your en-tries where fantastic and very entertaining to read. All entries have been sent in and the winner will be announced at assembly this Fri-day. Thank you to all parents who supported and encouraged their children in walking to school. Walking or riding to school encourages our stu-dents to be more active and healthy and reduc-es traffic and parking congestion around our school. Kerry Reid
