Dinner of Congregation Levi Yitzchok-Lubavitch, & Chabad of

South Broward Award Ceremony.

Mazal Tov to the Distinguished Honorees, Dr. Herbert Brizel,

Rabbi Yossi Lebovics, Mrs. Liat Levy, Mrs. Mushki Martinez,

Matias Lancewicki and Mason Weisfisch., to our Dinner

Chairman Rabbi Shui Kastel, to our Dinner Co-Chair Mr Bernie

Friedman and to the entire staff of over 100 men and women

who work full time and part time at Chabad of South Broward

Headquarters and all its educational institutions.

For 38 years, Chabad of South Broward has been recognized as

the leaders of Jewish Education, Social Services and Outreach

in South Florida.

From our World’s Largest Annual Chanukah Festival the past

38 years, to our renowned Chai Tots Preschool,from our Chaya

Aydel Teacher’s Seminary, to our CTeen and Friendship Circle

Programs,from our Hebrew Club for Children, to our Kollel for

Businessmen and Professionals, from our Mikvahs for the

Physically Challenged to our three daily Shachris Minyanim

attended by over 100 people every weekday, it comes as no

surprise to see that our theme of Growth at this year’s Dinner is

taking us to new and soaring heights.

Tonight, many of our educational institutions have come

together to make this our greatest Dinner in history.

Yes, we’ve come a long way, from being the first Chabad Center in

Broward County, to now having some twenty Centers in South

Broward and forty five agencies at our Hallandale Beach

Headquarters.

The Rebbe annually sent a letter and blessings to our Dinner. No

doubt, the Rebbe’s blessings are being showered upon us this

evening, to all Dinner Guests, to the esteemed Honorees and to all

your family and friends.

A special thank you to those individuals who have climbed from

being “donors” to Chabad of South Broward and have made a

paradigm shift in becoming “partners” in our holy work.

It is thanks to our growing amount of Partners, that we are able to

offer programs to thousands of men, women and children in our

community.

May all of you go from strength to strength, in good health, with

many Simchas and good Parnassah.

May our 38th Annual Dinner take place in Jerusalem with

Moshiach, NOW!

Chaya Aydel Seminary

Chaya Aydel Seminary (CAS) is a Chabad- Lubavitch Girls’

Seminary located in Hallandale Beach, Florida. CAS has

attracted students from all over the world. Girls come to

study at CAS because f its diverse learning program, its unique

Shlichus/ Outreach opportunities, and it’s warm, caring,

Family environment.

Our program is designed for a motivated student who is eager

to experience a year of learning and growth with an emphasis

on Chasiduss and Chabad outreach activities. Our dormitory

houses boast beautiful full kitchens, laundry facilities, and

spacious backyards. Hallandale Beach is centrally located and

our Seminary benefits from Shabbatons, Farbrengens, and

programs hosted by Chabad houses in the surrounding cities.

As CAS completes its 16th year of educating Jewish young

women, we are proud to have instilled within hundreds of our

graduates the necessary love and dedication to Hashem and

the Torah, so they can be the pillars of the Jewish home and

the leaders of the Next Generation.

CTeen and The Friendship Circle

CTeen and The Friendship Circle. Two programs you hear about all the time,

yet don’t actually know what goes down. What is it? Teen events, yes, but what do they actually do??

CTeen is a Jewish Teen Network, providing exciting and meaningful

programs for all teens in high school. Our goal is to ensure a strong sense of Jewish pride, along with having teens complete hours of community service. We visit patients at hospitals, we bring joy at nursing homes, we do activities with sick children at the children’s hospital, and much more. We instill a power of fulfillment and achievement in the teens, for they are the future.

CTeen is the place that any Jewish teen can meet other teens, have fun, and

do good deeds all at the same time.

The Friendship Circle exists to bring happiness and companionship to

children and young adults with special needs by celebrating their individuality, as well as by bringing energy, support, and peace of mind to their families.

To do this, we focus on developing the values of altruism, compassion, and

acceptance in our teen volunteers as we heighten community awareness and sensitivity and encourage a sense of responsibility and involvement.

Being paired in a buddy system, our teen develops the sense of “I am

important to this child, I make a difference.” Having this attitude of independence and maturity, is important to any teenager.

Within both of our successful programs, there are over 200 teenagers, and

counting.

New teens are being introduced every day to these programs.

Hundreds upon hundreds of community service hours, and thousands of

smiles, are a result of CTeen and the Friendship Circle.

We stand here today with the power infused by the youth of this generation.

Chai Tots Preschool

Our school is built on the belief that the earliest events in life are

the most important and formative, and are critical determinants of

the long course of development.

We have a strong emphasis on learning through the arts,

incorporating the Reggio Emilia discipline. Our children spend the

day exploring, experiencing, playing, and creating. From our

toddlers to our preschoolers, our students are exposed to a world

full of art, music, and nature.

Our children learn through innovative and creative activities that

are both teacher-led and self-directed. We follow the child's lead,

using their interests to create points of study through a variety of

motor, cognitive, and social skills.

Our vibe is gentle and happy, and our noise is the chatter of

children’s creativity.

As a Jewish educational center, the moral values of Judaism are

woven naturally throughout all of our disciplines so that they

become both a meaningful and treasured part of our children's

lives.

The Kollel for Businessmen and Professionals & Adult Education

Multiple weekly Classes including accredited courses from

the Jewish Learning Institute attended by over 50 people.

Parsha Torah Studies for women every Thursday morning

Kollel BBQ Dinner every Thursday night from 8:30-10:00pm

for men well attended with a 30 people average attendance

Lunch & Learns In offices throughout South Broward

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

One on one study sessions of Torah study subject of their

choice.

Chaplaincy- Bi-monthly Jewish service for Broward County

inmates and Weekly visits to local hospitals.

Community outreach on Hallandale Beach Blvd. Weekly

visits to retail and commercial properties for Tefilin and

Mezuzot.

Monthly Friday Night dinners for the Community with a

Guest Speaker well attended by over 100 people

Dr. Herb Brizel

Dr. Herbert E. Brizel has spent a lifetime of giving to others.

His career has encompassed 45 years of academic medicine and private

practice in the discipline of radiation oncology, specializing in head and neck

cancers. He contributed to the field through groundbreaking research

publications, teaching, and creating educational programs, all of which helped

develop radiation therapy from an exotic, last hope cancer treatment into an

integral part of cancer treatment planning. Dr. Brizel is a Fellow of the

American College of Radiology, a Distinguished Fellow of the American

College of Nuclear Medicine, and a recipient of the Spirit of Healing Award

from the Memorial Healthcare System, among numerous honors and

recognition.

He is an active emeritus staff member of the hospitals, and continues to

oversee cancer-related clinical trials there, in addition to regularly attending

breast and lung tumor boards to stay current, as well as share his expertise.

Dr. Brizel further serves as an active emeritus board member of the

Memorial Foundation and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Herb and his beloved wife Nancy (z”l) have been philanthropic pillars of the

entire Jewish community, and long-time friends of Chabad, sharing in our

joyous spirit and supporting the many critical programs that positively impact

our community to make it strong. Upon Nancy’s passing, he and his children

generously donated one of the stained glass windows in our sanctuary in her

loving memory. Chabad takes great pleasure in honoring Dr. Herbert Brizel

with its Lifetime Achievement Award.

Rabbi Yossi Lebovics Rabbi Yossi Lebovics is the Principal of the Chaya Aydel Seminary, since

its inception in 2002. Yossi was born in Montreal in 1973 and is the oldest

of the three children of Cantor Yitzchok Lebovics and Adele

(Tennenhaus) A”H. After graduating high school in Montreal, he

continued his studies at the Rabbinical colleges of Montreal, New Jersey

and France where he received his Rabbinic ordination.

Yossi Married Chanie (Lieberman) of Lauderhill FL in 1996, and settled

there after spending a year in Kollel in Crown heights. Yossi and Chanie

now have 10 children KA”H. As CAS completes it's 16th year of educating

Jewish young women, Rabbi Lebovics has gained a reputation as an

outstanding educator, known for his warmth and dedication and care for

each and every one of his students. Rabbi Lebovics together with his wife

Chanie and the rest of the CAS Administration have instilled within

hundreds of its graduates the necessary love and dedication to Hashem

and the Torah, so that they can be the pillars of the Jewish home and the

leaders of the Next Generation.

Rabbi Lebovics is also an accomplished Cantor and has been thrilling

audiences with his singing since he was a child. He is fluent in the

traditional Nusach Hatefila which he performs in a pleasing and musical

fashion, blending in contemporary tunes. He has studied music and

Cantorial art under Cantor David Bagley and Mr. Jonathan White. He is a

sought after Chazzan and has performed all over the United States, South

America, Canada, Europe and Israel.

Since 2010 he has sung the National Anthem 5 times at the Miami Heat

and Florida Panthers games.

Matias Lancewicki

Matias Lancewicki. He is that teen who walks into a room

with a smile, and everyone looks up. He is a role model for all

his friends. Not only did he complete hours of volunteering,

but focuses on coming up with new events, and bringing his

friends into the work he does- so they too can benefit from

the experience. He is a strong pillar of the Friendship Circle

and CTeen, and teens look at him for inspiration.

We congratulate Mati, for Teen of the Year, for his strong

leadership and inspiration to our teens and our community.

Mason Weisfisch

What are most teens doing every Sunday?

Football, watching television, sleeping in?

Let us introduce you to Mason, our youngest committed

volunteer on the board. Mason, being in eighth grade and

2 to 3 years younger, than most of our volunteers, works

for the Hebrew school and the Friendship Circle.

He connects well to children with special needs, and they

adore him. Even at his young age, Mason is a role model

for other teens for his patience, fun loving personality, and

eagerness to be of help.

We congratulate Mason, for Junior Teen of the Year,

because he deserves it for every hour spent helping our

community grow.

There is always that one person who walks into the room,

and everyone can sense a change. A sense of ownership,

leadership. A person who people can confidently turn to.

Liat Levy

Liat Levy was born in Philadelphia and moved to Miami 11

years ago. She met her husband, Yonatan and together they

have 4 beautiful boys: Aviel, Amitai, Asher and Eli. They are

part of the Aventura Isles and Chabad of South Broward

communities. Her husband is also a member of the North

Miami Beach Kollel.

Liat has been a member of the PTO since her first year as a

Chai Tots Parent in 2014. She became PTO President

alongside Mushki Martinez in 2015 and has enriched our

school environment with her energy and excitement for all

our events and programs. She spearheaded our Torah and Tea

Program at Chai Tots which hosts monthly Torah Lectures

with amazing speakers from the community. We are thankful

to have her as our PTO Co-President and parent at Chai Tot

Preschool.

Mushki Martinez

Mushki Martinez was born in England. She lived in New York

until she was 7 when her family moved to Miami where she

attended LEC and Beis Chana. It was here that she met her

husband, Alan, got married and settled in North Miami Beach.

Her family has been part of Beis Menachem for the past 22

years. They have 3 children, Kovi, Ezzy and Jo, all of whom

have attended and currently attend Chai Tots Preschool.

Mushki has been an integral part of the Chai Tots PTO since

2013. She became PTO Co-President in 2015 alongside Liat

Levy. Her passion for Chinuch and her attention to every

detail has been an elemental gain for Chai Tots Preschool.

Mushki is always eager to help, from planning to executing all

school events, to offering support when needed. She gives

100% of her time and energy without expectation of

receiving. We are grateful to have her as our PTO President

and parent at Chai Tot Preschool.
