Principal Sue Weller and the staff at Eagle Lake Primary School (ELPS) welcome all students back to class.

The staff tries to meet all requests for a specific teacher. Due to the num- ber received, not all requests are pos- sible. All ELPS teachers are certified and capable of giving your children the education and opportunities they de- serve.

If you do not find your child's name here, please contact the school office, 234-3587. Students are not enrolled without complete records.

Rice CISD Dress Code

The District's dress code is established to value grooming and hy- giene as a means to ensure personal safety and to prevent academic disruption or interruption. Students should learn to dress appropriately for the school/work environment. Given that school is the students' work- place, they are expected to dress in a way appropriate to that environ- ment. Parents are asked to assist administrators and faculty in keeping with dress code policy to minimize disciplinary actions against such violations.

All students should be well groomed with daily personal hygiene habits.

CLOTHING •Should be appropriate in size to cover undergarments, midriff, chest,

back, and upper-thighs. •Clothing and accessories with suggestive symbols, writing, or sub-

liminal messages are considered a personal safety hazard and disruptive to the learning environment and therefore not permitted.

HAIR •Abnormal hair color or hairdo is prohibited. •Hair may not cover the eyes.

BOYS •All pants and shorts must be worn above the top of the buttocks. •Pants legs may not drag on the floor. •Shirts may be worn untucked but must not extend below the bottom

of the buttocks. •No tank tops, basketball jerseys (unless worn over a T-shirt), or

muscle shirts. •No earrings. •Facial hair must be shaved at all times. •Sideburns are allowed but cannot extend below the bottom of the

earlobe. •Hair must not be bound in a ponytail. Rubber bands and ties on

braids must match hair color.

GIRLS •Pant legs may not drag on the floor. •No slits in skirts allowed if higher than the longest finger when

standing erect. •Midriffs and crop tops which allow for exposure of skin at any time

in the mid section are not allowed. •Sleeveless shirts are allowed but must be evenly cut from the arm-

pit around the top of the shoulder. •Hair rollers are not permitted. •Earrings allowed in ears only. •Shirts may be worn untucked but must not extend below the bottom

of the buttocks.

MISCELLANEOUS PROHIBITED ITEMS •Torn or see-through clothing. •Clothing with suggestive writing, pictures, emblems, or symbols. •Dark glasses or sunglasses. •Caps, hats, or bandanas •House shoes or sleep wear. •Any clothing that the administration determines is inappropriate. •Cutoffs, spandex and pajamas. •Bare feet. •Rakes, picks, or grooming combs may not be worn in hair. ing to the dress code.

All elementary cafeterias in the District sell full and reduced price, long-term tickets for lunch to students, as well as adults. The high school now has an automated system that keeps track of student and adult accounts. Tickets or deposits may be done any- time except serving time. The manag- ers are not allowed, by the Child Nu- trition Program, to sell tickets during serving time.

PARENTS; We strongly encour- age buying a ticket for elementary or junior high student or depositing money into your high school student's account to eliminate the hassle of send- ing cash on a daily basis.

PARENTS: As a reminder, chil- dren who receive a free lunch are also eligible for a free breakfast. Please encourage your child/children to eat breakfast and lunch at school.

PARENTS: When a child has four (4) charges, the Rice CISD cafeteria managers are NOT REQUIRED TO OFFER A CHILD A MENU BREAKFAST OR LUNCH. How- ever, they will be offered an alterna- tive meal instead.

Lunch applications will be given to all students the first day of school.

They must be completed and re- turned by Sept. 1. A new application has to be completed each year to qualify for benefits. So remember to send your application in as requested.

After processing the lunch applica- tions, students will pick up their lunch cards from their respective cafeteria managers.

La escuela secundaria ahora tiene un sistema automatizado que no pierdo de vista cuentas del estudiante y del adulto. No se permite a los encargos, por el programa de la Nutricion de Nino, vender boletos durane tiempo de servir.

PADRES: animomas fuertemente comprar un boleto para el estudiante alto elemental o menor o depositar el dinero en la cuenta de su estudiante de la high school secundaria para eliminar el molestia de enviar efectivo sobre una base diaria.
