1. General Information: name: Bachelor's Degree in Music Education
duration: 3 years (6 semesters)
total ECTS: 180
2. Policy for Accepting Transfer Courses Students who wish to transfer courses from other institutions have to apply to the Student
Affairs Committee. The application must include:
The application form of the Academy of Music for accepting transfer courses,
The certificate from the institution where the student passed the course,
The syllabus of the course.
The transfer course will be accepted if it is comparable in content, scope and quality.
3. Qualifications for Promotion To be promoted to the next curricular year, students must pass 60 ECTS credits that include
the major course and all required courses. Students that have achieved 60 ECTS credits by
passing several elective courses can be promoted even though they have not passed one
required course.
In the 1st and 2
nd years, students may take required or elective courses at higher grade level in
the scope of 20 ECTS credits if the course does not continue from the previous year – with
such courses the name in the curriculum ends with a number, e.g. Ear Training 1, Ear
Training 2. The additional credits are kept for the following year, allowing students to
advance faster, as well as to have easier and higher electivity.
To repeat a year, students must pass at least 40 ECTS credits of the current year.
4. Requirements for Completing Academic Program For completing the bachelor’s degree, you have to meet all the requirements set in the
curriculum of your academic program, thereby achieving 180 ECTS credits.
5. Grading Scale The grading corresponds to the following grading scale:
10-(excellent: outstanding results with negligible mistakes),
9-(very good: high pass with minor mistakes),
8-(very good: sound knowledge),
7-(good: sound knowledge with major mistakes),
6-(satisfactory: adequate knowledge suiting minimum criteria),
5 - 1-(insufficient: failure, poor knowledge below minimum criteria).
Candidates with grades satisfactory (6) or more have passed the examinations successfully.
