This year, the winner of the event was Tom Walker, a bartender at The American Bar at The Savoy in London. Walker’s winning cocktail, Maid in Cuba, is a combination of BACARDÍ Superior rum, fresh mint, cucumber, soda, and sweet and sour mix, finished off with absinthe spritz. The Maid in Cuba, like other winners of the Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition, stood up against well-known cocktails like the mojito and the daiquiri.

This year, the winner of the event was Tom Walker, a bartender at The American Bar at The Savoy in London. Walkers winning cocktail, Maid in Cuba, is a combination of BACARD Superior rum, fresh mint, cucumber, soda, and sweet and sour mix, finished off with absinthe spritz. The Maid in Cuba, like other winners of the Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition, stood up against well-known cocktails like the mojito and the daiquiri.

2. Recently, Bacardi began accepting entries for its 2015 competition. Three finalists from national competitions held in each participating country will travel to Mexico to see a Bacardi distillery, visit the Bacardi family archive in Miami, and take six months to promote their unique legacy cocktails. At the end of that six-month period, finalists will go head-to-head at the Legacy Global Final in May 2015.
