However, we can use some cooler weather. We should be welcoming back our friends from the North before too long. CONGRATULATIONS to our latest winner of the Queen of Hearts, Barbara Land. It was truly a great night to be able to award the pot to Barbara. Great job on selecting the right card hiding the Queen of Hearts. Our game started immediately again with the pot already over $2,700. Let’s attempt to drive the pot to a higher number than was won by Barbara. Thanks to Dan Britt, Yogi Berry and Dick Woods for keeping the game going. Thanks also to all the help in the kitchen and to our fantastic bartenders who keep us lubricated. September will have Hammer’s Taco Fiesta on the 16 . Best tacos in town at the right price. On the 2 , th nd 9 , 23 and 30 we will have our “world” famous th rd th burgers, sausages, dogs and fries. Bring your friends too! The work on the Hillbilly truck is going well. Again thanks to all who contributed to the repairs. On Sept. 10 , at the Azan Center there will be a Car & th Bike Show. Please come out and support the Center and our High Priest & Prophet Ray Lynch for his event. Should be some very nice cars and bikes to show off. If you have one you want to show off, bring it down. The Azan RV Travelers will have their September meeting at NBSC on 11 due to the Labor Day holiday th coming the first weekend. All the other units are as shown on the calendar. Please take note and support your unit(s). September 18 is the US Air Force’s 69 birthday. So th th all you Air Force guys raise a toast to the Wild Blue Yonder. Join us on September 24 for an Ol’ Fashion Sock Hop th serving Wings & Fries. The price is only $10.00 for 10 wings; a bucket of domestic beer is available at $10.00 for 6 beers. Their will also be DJ music and a 50/50 drawing. Dress retro and come join us for a good time. Tickets are available now at the Lounge and from Club/Unit Officers. Don’t forget on October 21 & 22 is the Perry Forest st nd Festival & Parade. Make plans to attend this fun-loving event. Tickets are also now available for the Golfers’ Steak Dinner on November 4 . th Please support your units at the meetings each month. Participation is what we need to keep our fraternity going strong. Please remember our sick and distressed families and service men and women who keep us safe throughout the world in your thoughts and prayers. Yours in the faith. Remember to smile and say a kind word to all those you meet, for you don’t know what they may be going through and a kind word or smile may be just what is needed to help them just make it through the day. Our next REGULAR meeting will be on September 8 , th BOD at 6:00 pm and stated meeting at 7:00 pm. October’s meeting will be on the 13th.
