14. The plants and herbs are subject to a strict ecological standards regardingmethods of cultivation and harvestingwhich takes intoaccounttheenvironmentaleffectofproductionofsupplementsformedicinaluse.

21. Thepricingwillincludethecostpriceofthesupplementsthemselvesandtherelatedcostsofimporttax,shipment,localdelivery,anyadditionalpreparationintheclinic,andpostagetopractitioners.Thecostmayvaryaccordingtothequantity.

22. Itisintendedthattheseitemswillbeavailableattheendofthecoursefornewpractitioners.23. Theoils,supplementsandproductsareavailablesubjecttoavailabilitytotheclinic/instituteandavailabilitymayvarydependingon

25. TheUKlegislativeprovisionsforherbalmedicinesaretobefoundintheMedicinesAct1968,Section12,paragraphs1&2,andSection56,paragraphs1&2.Traditionalmedicinescontainingnon-herbalingredientsarenotyetincludedintheseprovisions.

26. Section12(1)specifiesexemptionforherbalmedicinesfromlicensingprovidedthattheyaresuppliedsubsequenttoprivatepersonalconsultation.Section12(2)exemptsherbalmedicinesprovidedthattheyareproducedaccordingtostandardtraditional,non-industrialmethods.Italsospecifiesthatnowrittenclaimsmaybemadefortheuseoftheremedy.

27. Section 56 reiterates and expandsupon theprovisions of 12(1). In addition, Statutory Instrument 21301977 lists several herbs "inrespectofwhichtheexemptionsconferredbysection56(2)donothaveeffect".Thisremovedtheherbssoidentifiedfromgeneralsaleand specified that they may only be prescribed on consultation, or supplied under the supervision of a pharmacist. This list alsospecifiesmaximumpermitteddosesanddailydosesforthoseherbs.

28. Theobviousshortcomingsoftheseprovisionsarethecurrentexclusionofnon-herbalingredientsandthatthereisnodefinitionofwhoorwhatapractitioneris.TheimminentrevisionofSection12(1),alongsidethestatutoryregulationoftheCAMprofessions,isexpected
