We are pleased to be able to offer a range of school uniform and PE kit which can be bought directly from the school’s uniform shop. The uniform shop provides an efficient service to our students and parents/guardians for sizing of uniform and immediate purchases. The uniform shop is situated in the larger of the offices next to the gym. This shop is open during term time on Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes from 1.30 to 2.30pm and again after school from 3.30 to 4.00pm. AHS uniform for our Year 7-11 students The table on the next page shows the compulsory uniform items your daughter will require, plus some optional items. If you have a preference for the skort, it is not necessary to purchase the training short. In addition, there is an optional training pant with long legs which can be worn for extra warmth. Please ensure that all items are clearly named before the school’s start of term. For all methods of payment, please see the back page of this brochure. * NB The school skirt should be worn with the hem no more than 5cm from the centre of the knee. For most students this requires a minimum skirt length of 20’’. We strongly advise that you don’t purchase a skirt without your daughter having tried one on.

Payment On-line Visit www.ahs.bucks.sch.uk, click on Parents, then click on School Uniform and select AHS Online Uniform Shop. Ensure correct uniform items are ordered and selected (ie refer to uniform items as listed in this brochure).

Purchasing in school Card, cheque and cash purchases payments can be made from the uniform shop during the shop opening times.* Please ensure that your daughter brings a completed order form and payment with her. Further order forms are available from a wall mounted unit outside the uniform shop. Please write the name of the student clearly on the back of any cheques and make them payable to “Aylesbury High School”.

Once you have placed your uniform order please ask your daughter to collect her items from the uniform shop on the same or next day when the shop is open. (see text box below)

Returns – IMPORTANT

Please satisfy yourself that all garments are of the correct size before “naming” them. All garments being returned for exchange or refund must be in a saleable condition, ie totally unmarked, unaltered, labels not removed and in their original packaging. They should be brought to the Uniform Shop on the exchange dates as stated or during shop opening times.

Other Items of School Uniform (not obtainable via the school shop)

For PE: A pair of trainers, Shin pads, a pair of football boots, a plain swimming cap , a towel a plain swimming costume , a gum shield is highly recommended for hockey Shoes should be of a single colour (either black or navy) and heels should be no more than 5cm in height. Narrow heels or extreme styles are not permitted and the shoe should extend no higher than the ankle bone.

A plain navy coat, jacket or anorak is preferred, but other shades of blue, black or grey are acceptable. Denim, leather and suede jackets or coats are not permitted.

If worn, tights should be un-patterned navy, black or flesh coloured. Socks should be plain navy or plain white.

Hair should not be artificially coloured. Hair accessories should be unobtrusive, plain and in school or neutral colours only. Girls are not permitted to wear make-up at all in KS3 and nail varnish is not permitted until Year 12.

Jewellery is not permitted, except for one plain stud in each ear lobe and a small religious symbol on a chain worn under the blouse for reasons of faith rather than fashion.

A plain head covering in school colours is permitted for religious or medical reasons. The student’s face should be visible at all times. A white Kameez / tunic may be worn (mid thigh length only). We do hold a small number of items of second-hand uniform which we are able to offer to parents experiencing financial difficulties. The shop holds a good stock for immediate purchases and exchanges. Any out of stock items are ordered on Friday each week and should be available for collection between 2 - 6 weeks from this date.
