What a year!

This year has been crazy. So much has happened. This time last year Madison Square Garden had just happened and 2012 schedule was already bursting.

From Australia where we wroteDon't You Worry Child to playing Hammerstein Ballroom at Cosmic Opera, from Coachella to Summerburst in Sweden.

The decision to call it a day with Swedish House Mafia and going on One Last Adventure together.

What a journey it has been. None of that is possible without you guys constantly supporting me, Swedish House Mafia, my label and my artists.

From the bottom of my heart…thank you and wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and an amazing New Year.

Axwell and all at Ax HQ and Axtone HQ.

TWENTY TWELVEJANUARY

FEBRUARY

A Year In The Life Of Axwell...

We knew 'In My Mind' was an awesome track and released it on Axtone in January. We didn't know how awesome though, it hit the No.1 spot in a week and then further events unfolded across 2012...

Cosmic Opera @ The Hammerstein Ballroom NYC sold out in 14 minutes so a new date was added to ensure everyone got to be a part of it.

MARCH - MiamiMiami was...well, MASSIVE!! Not only did the Swedish House Mafia smash it at the Masquerade Motel, Axtone also held two sold-out shows at Amnesia and Surfcomber.

Both Axtone crew members and friends provided the beats, including Thomas Gold, NO_ID, Jacques Lu Cont, Arty, Funkagenda, Michael Calfan and the very tall Calvin Harris. Thank you guys!

Not forgetting our DJ competition winner DJ Emel who opened both parties for us too!

MAYMay was full of organisation and announcements for the Europe Tour. Sadly one of the announcements was of the Swedish House Mafia parting ways. On a positive note though, we loved the entries coming in for Where's The Party? by Carlsberg in Sweden!

Coachella was unreal! We didn't get to do it once either, but twice! All prep was obviously done in the kitchen before hand...

APRIL - Coachella

Home country time! Both Summerburst AND Where's The Party? by Carlsberg. BOOM!

JUNE - Summerburst / WTP

Page 6: AXMAG - The 2012 Wrap Issue

We also gave fans the chance to win a trip to Sweden, meet Axwell and hit Summerburst and Where's The Party? by Carlsberg.Evan Baker was the man that won. The tables turned though and the craziest thing happened, he gave Axwell a present?!

He hacked a road sign in the US especially for Axwell and got a poster of it for the man himself.

Axtone party time again, this time on the white Isle @ Ushuaia. Topped of with T in the Park, Dublin Phoenix Park, Milton Keynes Bowl and Tomorrowland with the Swedish House Mafia. What a summer :)

JULY - Ushuaia / MKB

& THE WINNER IS...

Page 7: AXMAG - The 2012 Wrap Issue

SEPTEMBER - N.A. TourNorth America! What a welcome, you guys know how to party! Electric Zoo & the whole tour was one of Axwell’s favourite ever shows!

We think Axwell possible travelled around the world several times to party with everyone! The month was rounded off with North Coast Music Festival in Chicago...

AUGUST OCTOBERAx returned to Ibiza to escape the cold & tie the knot in the sunshine.

NOVEMBER - One Last TourSwedish House Mafia One Last Tour started and the only place to do it was Sweden. Need we say more?

DECEMBERDefinitely starting to feel festive on tour...

HARD ROCK SOFA1. What's been your highlight of 2012?In 2012 we had a few great releases on Axtone Records like “Here We Go” together with Swanky Tunes, “Quasar”, also we released our remix of David Guetta ft. Taped Rai “Just One Last Time” on his own label What A Music. In 2012 we started touring throughout the world intensely.

2. And your low-point? As for low-points… we can hardly remember any.

3. Best track of 2012?Sebastian Ingrosso & Tommy Trash “Reload”

4. What’s your New Year’s resolution? We want to launch our own label.

5. What’s to come in 2013?We want lots of happiness, energy and positivity for all to come in 2013.

6. Tip for 2013?Our tip for everybody would be to work harder to achieve your goal and to be dedicated to what you are doing!

THOMAS GOLD1. What's been your highlight of 2012?Having my first own show in NYC - Governors Island together with my drumband - to see how excited people were and how crazy the whole night was! And Tomorrowland playing mainstage for an amazing crowd!

2. And your low-point? Actually there was no real low point, I´m very happy about how 2012 was!

3. Best track of 2012?Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl "In My Mind" (Axwell Remix)

4. What’s your New Year’s resolution?Produce more music!

6. Tip for 2013?Be yourself, don't hate and enjoy your life!

TOMMY TRASH1. What's been your highlight of 2012?Getting my first Grammy nomination ever!!!

2. And your low-point? Probably breaking my ankle and having to cancel shows!

3. Best track of 2012?Million Voices - Otto Knows

4. What’s your New Year’s resolution?To read more.

5. What’s to come in 2013?Plenty of new original music and maybe an artist album!

6. Tip for 2013?Drink plenty of water.

FEENIXPAWL1. What's been your highlight of 2012?I think it’s a tie between winning the Aria for best dance release and getting a number 1 on Beatport with In My Mind. Both goals we’d set ourselves for the future, we were just lucky we managed to achieve them in the same year.

2. And your low-point? Probably having to leave WMC. We were having way too much fun!

3. Best track of 2012?Zedd - Clarity

4. What’s your New Year’s resolution? To tone down the amount of alcohol we consume at gigs, although it probably won't happen.

5. What’s to come in 2013?We've got a whole bunch of new releases ready to come out, plus a lot of touring. We just did our first compilation CD for Onelove so we have an Australian tour for that until March, then we are back over to the States and we are really excited to get involved in the European summer.

6. Tip for 2013?Don't worry, be happy.

The 55th Annual Grammy Award Nominees have been announced. We have to admit, all the crew at Axtone HQ are pretty chuffed. Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl featuring Georgi Kay ‘In My Mind‘ (Axwell Remix) has been nominated for best remixed recording, non-classical. BOOM!

As if this wasn’t enough amazing news in itself, but our boss man Axwell has had his head down working hard and added not one, but TWO other nominations as well! Swedish House Mafia featuring John Martin ‘Don’t You Worry Child‘ is up for best dance recording and one that may have slipped under the radar is his work as co-producer on Flo Rida featuring Sia ‘Wild Ones’, nominated for best rap / sung collaboration.

Let’s just say we’ll be having a few celebratory beers this weekend and want to say a big thank you to everyone for all of their support through the years. THANK YOU!

The 55th Annual Grammy’s airs, February 10th on CBS @ 8pm-11.30pm (ET/PT)

DISCOPOLIS

2013INCOMING

INTRODUCE YOURSELVES...We are Discopolis, a four-piece band from Edinburgh.

DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND?Though predominantly electronic in sound, we definitely see ourselves as a more traditional band - we're keen to be heard on the dancefloor, but we'll also make ourselves right at home on stage.

AND YOUR STYLE?Sweats, leathers and Amaretto Sours.

HOW DID YOU COMEINTO THE AXTONE FAMILY?As far as we're concerned, it boiled down to sheer luck. Sunday roast at Axtone headquarters then, yeah?

WHAT'S PLANNED FOR 2013 SO FAR?Cabin retreats, soul searching and petty bust ups all make for a good album.

AMBITIONS FOR THE FUTURE?Remain lofty.
