The Data Center
Information from IoT sensors are organized and connected so the information can be accessed, organized and intelligently managed.
Automotive IoT Gateway
Onboard systems that control and monitor the car’s engine, drivetrain, steering and braking systems would be integrated with the navigation, entertainment, safety and vision systems.
Two-Way Communication
Secure data transfers between cloud based services and an automobile’s systems and passengers.

Advanced Systems
IoT Gateway coupled with intelligent infrastructure could make driving safer. A similar system to the traffic collision avoidance system (TCAS) in airplanes that prevents aircraft collisions could help prevent automobile collisions.

Connectivity
Vehicles will require purpose designed communication microprocessors, capable of supporting industrial temperatures as well as secure, trusted data transfers between cloud-based Remote Monitoring, Management and Control (RMMC) applications and the vehicle.
Context-Aware Systems
Sensing nodes throughout the car would bring attention to potential danger sensed in the road or surroundings as well as initiate needed maintenance and updates unobtrusively.
Internet
Market sizing forecasts predict more than 150 million cars will be connected to broadband Internet by 2020 and one-in-five cars will be self-aware and capable of sharing information on mechanical health and surroundings by 2018.
