How is this information communicated

• Graphical data can be transmitted via email attachment

or a broadband connection.

• Less sophisticated communications setups would utilize written forecasts sent to an Inmarsat C / fax or even a shore side fax for manual delivery to the Master.

• Forecast data can be site specific taking into account local effects of terrain that raw model data has difficulty handling and the Master could speak with a forecaster.

Bottom Line

The sea is selective, slow in recognition of effort and aptitude but fast in sinking the unfit.
