However, his dream of wearing the black robe could not come true as he had to join his family business, Amal- gamated Pest Control and Hygiene and Sanitisation Services Fiji Ltd in 2005. While taking over the reins of his fam- ily business, little did he realise he has what it takes to be a good leader. Mr Tazim’s leadership qualities were rewarded when he won the Excellence in Business Leadership Award during the 2016 Westpac Prime Minister’s In- ternational Business Awards. The Excellence in Business Lead- ership Award, sponsored by Golden Manufacturers was presented to an in- dividual who has shaped the business world in Fiji. This is through steadfast leadership, vision, tenacity and dedication; who is a true leader and role model for other companies. Mr Tazim was over the moon after re- ceiving this award. “I am really excited to be honored with such an award and to be receiv- ing it from the Acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed- Khaiyum, I think it’s an icing on the cake for me,” he said. Mr Tazim describes a leader as the one who is humble and is able to com- municate effectively to anyone regard- less of his or her position in an organi- sation. “When I took over the business, I only had 5 employees, however, now over the past 12 years we have over 180 em- ployees,” he said. “It’s all about dreaming and material- ising it with a very hardworking staff. Foneology bagged the Service in Excellence. The Award for Service Excel- lence was supported by LICI, the Life Insurance Corporation of India. It recognised organisations that have achieved outstanding results -through initiatives that demonstrate leadership and com- mitment to service excellence marketed to an international au- dience. This award was open to out- standing customer champions – businesses that operate customer- centric organizations where the customer is truly king. Celebrating those organisations demonstrating the link between customer service and profit, the Award recognized Foneology for constantly striving to exceed customer expectations, industry leading standards of service, and innovation around customer ex- perience. For Mr Trusler, investing in ca- pacity building of his staff is one of the proven ways of enhancing service delivery. “We are very focused on service and ensure that our technicians are trained and actually have the correct standard which meets the requirements of Australia and New Zealand. I think my staff have done an excellent job this year,” said Mr Trusler. “We make sure that our staff are trained.
