and Business Luncheon!

AR TSKC -REGIONAL AR TS COUNCIL

WHO WE ARE

PROGRAMMING:

Promote: Now Showing, designed to foster partnerships between individual artists and businesses by providing opportunities for metro-area artists to display their work in the conference rooms, lobbies, and office spaces of local companies. ArtsKCGO, this free digital guide to arts and culture will advance audience engagement in the arts throughout the Kansas City region by connecting residents to arts offerings and opportunities in Kansas City

Support: The ArtsKC Grantmaking Fund, is an equal-opportunity arts funding source, sustaining the Kansas City region’s entire arts sector through direct investments in people, programs, and projects. The fund invests an average of $500,000 per year through more than 100 grants to local artists and arts organizations. ArtsKC launched the Arts Leadership Series in January 2016 to give a diverse pool of professionals the knowledge, network, and skills needed to become leaders on arts nonprofit boards and committees.

Advocate: ArtsKC serves as the voice for the arts community in civic dialogues and works with more than 200 local arts and cultural organizations to advance public policy decisions that benefit the arts in the Kansas City region through our Advocacy programs. In the summer of 2017 ArtsKC will release the findings of the Arts & Economic Prosperity V or AEP5 conducted by Americans for the Arts. This new study will build on four previous national economic impact efforts (which studied years 1992, 2000, 2005 and 2010 respectively) to document the unprecedented scope and detail the key role played by the nonprofit arts industry in strengthening local and statewide economies.

In total, our programs directly benefit more than 307,000 people and we indirectly benefit more than 2.5 million people through ArtsKC Funding organizations.

MISSION STATEMENT:ArtsKC – Regional Arts Council’s mission is to unleash the power of the arts. ArtsKC focuses on three strategic priorities to fulfill their mission:

• Promote the arts for their individual, community, and economic benefits, and• Support artists and arts agencies with capacity building programs and grants,• Advocate for the arts by educating the community, building relationships with government

officials, and supporting the development of public funding for the arts.

“Hallmark is proud to be a long-time supporter of the ArtsKC Awards luncheon, which is easily one of the most entertaining luncheons in town! The event celebrates the companies and individuals who play significant roles in supporting the arts in Kansas City. A vibrant arts community helps make Kansas City a great place to live, work and play, and is vitally important to Hallmark. The luncheon never disappoints – we always leave inspired by all the Kansas City arts community has to offer!”

—Cora Storbeck, Hallmark

“The annual ArtsKC luncheon is not only a time to honor the incredible individuals and organizations committed to creating and supporting Kansas City’s vibrant and upcoming arts community, it’s also an inspiring and engaging show. No other benefit luncheon is quite as enjoyable or entertaining. For more than a century, art has been an integral part of the culture and character of UMB. That’s why UMB works to enhance knowledge of and appreciation for the arts by supporting art programs and events that entertain, educate and enrich communities. We’re proud to have supported the ArtsKC Awards Luncheon since its inaugural year.”

– Jen Houston, UMB
