The International Olive Oil Council (IOOC) extra virgin olive oils annual competition, the

Mario Solinas Quality Award, is the quintessential event of the olive growing industry. In the

2013 edition 110 oils were presented: 43 from Spain, 4 from France, 15 from Greece, 1 from

Israel, 1 from Italy, 41 from Portugal, 4 from Tunisia and 1 from Uruguay; resulting finalists 6

Spanish oils, one Portuguese, one French and one Uruguayan; who received their medals and

certificates at the IOOC headquarters in Madrid.

In this way, the extra virgin olive oil of Agroland is the only winner

from outside Europe in this competition at a global scale.

local universities analyzes diverse landscapes worldwide under their aesthetic, functional, environmental

and economic aspects, according to different criteria such as sustainability, biodiversity, respect for the

environment and in harmony with their environment. The distinction awarded to Agroland as the "Best

Olive Landscape" is for its Garzon olive grove, in Uruguay, which was considered "a model" by the jury

of the landscape.
