The people at Lucidity were generally full of happiness, and energy. This Tree of Good Thought exemplifies the

attitude at this type of gathering. The people are friendly, open and positive. Generally, most people you meet will

smile openly and speak with you kindly and honestly.

You will find an eclectic selection of people from young children to much older folks. Here is a small child playing in the dirt while an adult dances to the DJ playing in an elaborate, decorated stage. Eventually this stage was full of dancing people.

The sense of play and adventure is very present. From lights, hula hoops, poi, and other unusual things to climb on. This long haired, colorful man is slack lining high in the air. There was a lower slack line people were required to cross before they were allowed on the higher line.

Face paint was a common sight. Most guests were wearing outfits with many colors, fabrics, as well as top hats, scarves, and other props to showcase their individuality. There was a

lot of character in people as well as their camp sites. The entire festival was filled with decorated places to relax and

enjoy the show.

Workshops of different subjects were held for all the attendants. This land is of the Chumash Natives in the Santa Ynez mountains. This workshop was a ritual dance lead by an elder. His message was for the care and love of the land and progressing towards a better future for the planet.

As you can see many different types of people joined hands while singing and dancing together. There were 7 large circles all moving in different directions while they chanted a native song. There are many different people involved. Different ages, races, and styles most of which did not know, each other moving together for a common belief.

Beside this stage there were shaded areas with tables and pillows for people to watch the dance floor. This man watched the dance floor in a shirt with an OM symbol in the shape of trees. There were many different religions represented and a large acceptance of whatever religion you believed in. Spirituality is very present at this festival.

This is an art car that is used as a bar for people to sit and hang out. The middle of the car has shelves and there are seats on the outside. There is also a pillow seating area on

top and a tall pole for swinging and climbing.

There is a large acceptance of drugs and alcohol by the people of Lucidity. This sign which once read “Lucid City” was prankfully changed to “Acid City by one of the attendants. The name of the camp was “Tricksters Playground.”

The festival was 3 days long so people camped in tents and their RV’s. Many festival goers also wore scarves around their heads to protect themselves from the sun as well as look stylish. The fashion although different has many common styles.

This is the “Nomad’s

Nook,” stage at night. There are

many lights, colors, and

graphic designs for

décor. There is a full dance floor while

music blasts from multiple

large speakers. The festival is

lively and loud.
