Our shared p lanet i s our home. Ever y person, ever y job , ever y l i v ing th ing depends upon a hea l thy env i ronment and a hea l thy p lanet .

Without a safe c l imate , the people and p laces we love are at grave r i sk .

Whi le the c l imate cr i s i s a f fects ever yone, i t a f fects some more than others . In Austra l ia , Ind igenous communit ies are among those h i t f i r s t and worst by the impacts that threaten h istor y, cu l ture , and re lat ionsh ips w i th mother earth and each other. In both Austra l ia and g loba l ly , i t i s f requent ly those who have done the least to cause the prob lem, who face the consequences f i r s t and most severe ly. Cl imate change d isproport ionate ly impacts on women, people of co lour, the poor, d i sadvantaged and marg ina l i sed . These are the people lead ing the t rans i t ion , and who are cr i t ica l in dr iv ing so lut ions . Whi le the aged are often among the most vu lnerab le to extreme weather events , i t i s young people who wi l l see worsen ing condi t ions as the cr i s i s unfo lds , and i t i s future generat ions who bear none of the respons ib i l i ty for the cr i s i s who wi l l exper ience the worst ef fects .

We come together to confront the c l imate cr i s i s and to make a better wor ld - one that i s just , hea l thy, and where we l i ve in harmony wi th nature and each other. One where we stop creat ing c l imate po l lut ion and instead bu i ld a c lean, safe , and hea l thy future for a l l . One where a l l communit ies are res i l ient to the c l imate change that i s a l ready locked-in , and are a part of bu i ld ing the so lut ions that people need.

Th is w i l l not be easy. Corporat ions that prof i t f rom po l lut ion w i l l res i s t . And whi le the impacts of c l imate change are a l ready be ing fe l t , they cou ld become drast ica l ly worse in decades to come. Unless we act .
