Wing Rules

Economy wing rule Our new flexible stainless steel economy wing rule has been very popular. It’s 1/2” wide and 15cm long, with a universal flush stop. It’s calibrated in both directions, so the front can be used to measure wings and tails. WING15ECON $10.50

Standard wing rules made by us in the USA. A brass stop attached to a stainless steel machinist’s ruler aids accurate measurement of wing chords. Colored Leg Bands

Celluloid colored leg bands from A.C. Hughes are considered by many to be the best; however, the maker of celluloid has gone out of business and these bands will slowly be replaced by Darvic ™. We will carry a good supply of celluloid bands as long as they are available. Celluloid vs. Darvic ™ Although celluloid bands are not as UV stable as Darvic ™ bands, they have many advantages, including uniform thickness, dura-bility, and solubility in acetone (for sealing). Darvic ™ is actually a PVC mate-rial, more brittle than celluloid and requires a bit of finesse to close the bands. Numbered bands and other striped combinations By special order we can ob-tain numbered bands and other striped combinations for you. Please note that special orders take a long time — 4 to 12 weeks — to be delivered here and num-bered bands are more expensive all the time. Estimated prices: Numbered bands: multiply the price of plain bands by 5.36 Special colors or combinations: multiply the plain or stock striped price by 1.10 To seal the bands you can use acetone (nail polish remover is popular) on cellu-loid bands. Darvic ™ bands require a small soldering pencil or plumbers’ PVC cement.
