Avelar

Avelar & Associates is a group of architectural, construction, and building

code experts that have been specializing in the forensic analysis, redesign

and repair of commercial, industrial, single and multi-family residential buildings

since 1976. They also use state-of-the-art, computer-aided design to generate

visual presentation materials and reconstruction documents. Avelar recently

rebranded and moved their location from Oakland, CA to Walnut Creek and

were looking to redesign their new home, “the glass house”—a nickname given

to their office for having the largest amount of glass in the East Bay.

To transform the space, Avelar brought in Kimball Dealer Partner,

Be Workplace Design, Studio Benavente Architects, and

Kimball. Each department was considered independently with

their unique furniture needs in mind. Be Workplace Design and

Kimball provided high-quality renderings with interior finishings for

visualization and used premium products to furnish conference

rooms, private offices, open workstations, HUB spaces and

lounge areas. Avelar had great input with each decision from

their understanding of interiors, construction and task workers in

their firm. Visualizing technologies helped to transform this space

from start to finish in a way that enabled a specific vision to be

beautifully brought to life.

They carried the glass theme throughout the space most of their

interior walls as well. An impressive Dock conference table and

Joya chairs with leather upholstery were chosen for the stunning

conference room to create a spacious and sophisticated space

to meet as a team or host clients.

The sleek and sophisticated Priority collection was selected

for Avelar’s private offices. Be Workplace utilized multiple

components that support efficiency and practicality including

worksurfaces, wall storage, open storage and a pedestal that

doubles as storage or extra seating if needed. In the open office

space, Xsede Height Adjust workstations were paired with

Footprint storage and Joya task chairs to provide employees

flexibility and comfort in their daily tasks. Small phone booth

spaces were also created using Pairings lounge seating and

tables to provide a private retreat for employees when needed.

The team at Avelar was very satisfied with their new home and

were especially appreciative of the quality furniture they received

and the relationship built with the dealer team during this

year-long project.
