UltraTech is pleased to introduce Aveho Odor Removal Technology. The latest product in our line of Advanced Technologies. This odor removal technology doesnt just mask odors with a flowery scent but it actually captures and eliminates them. Its the most innovative odor removal to hit the market.

1

Developed by Kimberly-ClarkWorldwide, exclusive rights Aveho Odor ControlNothing Stinky About This

Aveho was developed by Kimberly Clark, a company that knows something about odors. Kimberly Clark spent 12 years developing and perfecting this technology, and UltraTech was fortunate enough to gain the worldwide exclusive rights to it. Aveho, which means to carry or to remove in Latin is really a new way to actually control odors by removing them, and not just covering them up or masking them with a scent.

Disruptive and DifferentUnique, patent protected odor removal productsCustomize formulation to remove target odorsDifferentiable from activated carbon

Aveho is a really disruptive and different technology. It is covered by over 12 patents, giving it a lot of proprietary protection in the marketplace. The Aveho formulation is designed to target sulfides, nitrates, amines, and acids, which are specifically found in malodors, the class of unpleasant odors. Because it targets these compounds, it really is designed to capture unpleasant smells and not the pleasant odors. Aveho differs from activated carbon in this manner, as activated carbon will target almost all odors and will saturate itself quickly, meaning it needs to be recharged frequently. By targeting the malodors specifically, Aveho is able to have a greater longevity than activated carbon. And unlike some products, Aveho can be used in liquids, in oils, in solvents, and in water as well as in the air or on dry surfaces. This represents an almost universal way to apply it and have it be completely effective.

New Category

A whole new category of odor controlIndustrial, retail & OEMsMasking/AC vs. Aveho

Aveho represents a whole new category of odor control. Because it is odor-neutral, it has a wide breadth of potential applications, from industrial to retail to OEMs. It is an odor-remediator, not a masking agent or cover-up scent. And because it chemically targets malodors specifically, its length of use is far superior to current market options. It is a long-term odor eliminator with patent protection!

How Does It Compare?Refrigerator Study Rotten Fish & Bananas

So how does Aveho compare to current market technologies? Kimberly-Clark did hundreds of tests and studies on the product as they were developing it. One of the studies was a refrigeration test where they took rotten fish and bananas and they put it in an unplugged refrigerator and they tested it against 3 products on the market today - Arm and Hammer Odor Absorber, Natural Fridge Gel, and a Japanese odor control sticker made specifically for refrigerators. The chart on this slide shows the intensity of the odors in the refrigerator (12 being the most odor and 0 being no odor) after the rotten fish and bananas have been in the refrigerator for 16 hours, 40 hours, 64 hours, and 86 hours. What you can see is that right from the beginning Aveho had virtually no odor detection level while the other technologies left anywhere from 3 to 10 times more odor then the Aveho during the course of the test. And this sort of dramatic difference between whats available today and what Aveho brings to the table is being shown whether youre talking about pet odors, body odors, urine, foot odors, ammonia, hydrogen sulfides, and more.

How Does It Work?

So how does Aveho work? Well, when the product was developed, one of the keys was to focus on something that would remove, for the most part, only those malodors that create the odor challenges we always face. This chart shows the most common chemical components (sulfides, acids, ketones and aldehydes, amines, and ammonia) and their prevalence in common odors (more check marks means the chemistry is more prevalent in that odor). Kimberly-Clarks background and knowledge of these odors helped to create such an effective solution to removing them. The Aveho compounds attract and either bind or react with the odor compounds, capturing or destroying them. This in effect removes them from the air and eliminates the odors associated with them.

How Does It Work?

To further explain how Aveho works, this is an animation showing a particle of the Aveho. Aveho works through metal oxides bonded to the surface. These are a very small micron size thats not perceptible visually but what happens is the metal oxides attract and bond the various malodors. When the malodors contact the Aveho particles, the Aveho either adsorbs them and binds them so they do not escape, or it catalytically converts them, breaking them into smaller, non-odorous molecules and then releases them, and is able to do that over and over again for a number of times. This gives the Aveho particle a tremendous ability to pull in a lot of odors and remove them from the atmosphere.

How Does It Work?

Its much like fly paper and flies. The flies are the odor molecules and Aveho is the fly paper. One of the keys is that it has enough time, or theres enough current, or enough ability for the malodors to come in contact with the Aveho to create the capture.

Industrial Applications

Were finding out that theres just an immense amount of industrial applications for the product. People have been testing it on dumpsters around restaurants or around grocery stores to keep the dumpster smell down. Its been shown to be effective in removing various odors in refrigerators. And not just what was done by Kimberly-Clark, but in real life tests as well. Its been used to remove pet odors. In areas where they sleep or on their favorite furniture. Rental car companies have applied it to the insides of their vehicles. It has also shown the ability to remove hydrogen sulfides. There are many opportunities in the cleaning and janitorial industry where Aveho can be mixed with mop water to leave behind a layer of odor removal. It has been shown to work in both the dry form as well in foul smelling water.

5870Retail Applications

Retail applications are quite numerous; we found that smoke odors can be removed using Aveho. Its great for shoes, boots, foot odor. The foot odor tests that were done by Kimberly-Clark showed that Aveho, could potentially remove foot odor for an incredible 58 70 years! This is of course a very specific test with lots of assumptions, but certainly Aveho should be able to remove foot odors for a number of months in the real world before it needs to be re-applied. It can be used on body odors as well as pet odors. Weve had reports of people putting it on paper towels and then putting the paper towels on top of their babys diapers when they put them into the diaper pail to remove those odors. Spraying it on the inside of your car to remove food odors, body odors and cigarette smells. The retail applications are just starting to unfold for us.
