At the dealership we add an Autosked application and phone server.

The Autosked server needs a LAN-side, static IP address

The dealership provides a login, for very limited and specific access and password, so Autosked can access the DMS server (ADP or Reynolds & Reynolds)

Interface #1 get files from the DMS

Early each morning Autosked logs into the DMS server and requests several custom dealerships reports:

Vehicles

Vehicle History

Campaigns

Op Codes

etc.

These report files are placed on the Autosked server,

Autosked builds/rebuilds it’s own data base

Service Advisors, and others access Autosked via Internet Explorer or the Fire Fox web browser.

The Autosked application is written in ‘C’ for performance but communicates via HTTP and uses HTML, PHP and Java to support the client PC’S.

These client PC’S ‘see’ the Autosked application as a web server. (Autosked uses port 1818 instead of port 80, the standard web server port)

Appointments are no longer kept on the DMS server

Each advisor has customized schedules reflecting the needs and abilities of the individual advisor and teams –something not available in any DMS

At ‘reception’, when the customer bring in the vehicle, the advisor uses the appointment screen to:

•Review the ‘repair order’

•Enter mileage and tag number

•Print the pre-RO form

•… clicks ‘Create & Print RO’

Autosked logs in to the DMS:

•receives the RO creation screen,

•fills it in electronically

and the DMS prints the repair order as it normally does.

The DMS handles the repair order from then on through completion, pricing, cashiering and into accounting.

1: The customer logs into dealership server, navigates to: ‘service’ then ‘make an appointment’ and is routed to the Autosked web server.

2: The customer makes an appointment in a process that is very similar to making an airline reservation. The confirmation is immediate. A confirmation email is also sent to the customer with cancellation link.
