New Features for Drawing Electrical SystemsUsing the Circuit ManagerCircuit Manager enhancements make the layout/design process more interactive. For example, you can click a circuit and show the devices in the drawing. You can use the Circuit Manager to manage or balance loads across panels. Panels can be linked from one to another, for example, when one panel is fed from another or for sub-panels. For more information, see Creating Circuits Using the Circuit Manager on page 371.

Assigning Load Categories/Demand FactorsYou can assign load categories/types to all objects with electrical connectors. In addition, you can apply demand factors to the total loads on a panel based on its load category type. For more information, see Creating Load Category Definitions on page 344.

Using the Electrical Project DatabaseThe Electrical Project Database now supports external data management and links panel data between drawings. For more information, see Using an Electrical Project Database on page 366.

Creating Panel SchedulesNew panel schedule types are available for a 1- or 3-phase branch panel, switchboard, distribution panel, in addition to the standard panel schedule. For more information, see About Panel Schedules on page 441.

New Features for Drawing Schematic DiagramsNew grips to add, lengthen, move, flip, and rotate objects make drawing and editing schematic objects easier. New sticky move capabilities allow you to move schematic objects in relation each other. For more information, see Modifying a Schematic Diagram on page 539.

New Features for Checking DesignChecking for InterferencesYou can use interference detection to check for interferences between building systems objects and architectural/structural objects. For example, check for interferences between ducts and pipes, or between ducts and walls. The software checks for interferences between objects in the current drawing, between objects in a referenced drawing, or between objectes in the current drawing and a referenced drawing. In addition to checking for hard interferences where objects overlap, you can check for soft interferences where the spaces around objects interfere. Checking for soft interferences ensures that there is enough room to mount and maintain the systems in a design. For more information, see Finding Interferences on page 589.

Using Solution Tips for Invalid ConnectionsSolution tips provide information about invalid connections between components in a drawing and replace disconnect markers in previous software releases. When enabled, a solution tip icon displays at each invalid connection point. Place the mouse over one of the icons to displays a tooltip that describes the rea
