words “Auto(logo of company)”and CAD “(computer aided design)”.

AutoCAD is 2D and 3D modeling software.It is developed by Autodesk company.In another way we can say that AutoCAD

is a designing course , which is performed by the help of computer.

• To draw a drawing first we need to check units i.,e. for mechanical engineering we choose decimal type in that mm scale.

• It will found in menu bar ,format, units

• Later we can give co-ordinates and start drawing

HOW CO-ORDINATE SYSTEM WORKS• There is a co-ordinate system used in AutoCAD.• Every drawing shows its co-ordinate.• To give co-ordinate we need to have an center point• so we need to start with an origin point (0,0).• In following figure the line shows its co-ordinate that is

( 100,0 ) and (0,100).
