Solar power your home

Australia has an abundance of sunshine, so it makes sense to install an EcoSmart® Solar Power System to utilise this cleaner, renewable and practical form of energy. EcoSmart solar power is also big on performance – which means you can enjoy electricity direct from the sun in any season.

Our highly effi cient systems will not only reduce your impact on the environment, they’ll also save you money on your energy bills. Combine your solar power system with Australia’s top performing EcoSmart Solar Hot Water System for the ultimate solution.

With Government rebates and subsidies there has never been a better time to make the switch to an EcoSmart Solar Power System.

And that’s a little ray of sunshine we all can use.

Gross Feed-In Tariff

Net Feed-In Tariff

What is a feed in tariff?

A feed-in tariff is offered by each of the State Governments and utility suppliers. They pay you a premium rate for electricity generated by your solar PV system, with two different types of feed in tariff systems - gross or net.

Gross Tariff(NSW, ACT)

A gross feed in tariff is when you’re paid a premium rate for ALL the electricity your system generates.

How do I make moneyfrom Solar?

Net Tariff(QLD, VIC, WA, SA)

A net feed-in tariff is when you’re paid a premium rate for any excess electricity (whatever you don’t use) that’s fed back into the grid.

Data Source: PV-GC spreadsheet based on the CEC GC Design Guidelines.PV Array 1kWp facing true north and a tilt angle of 20° with an average inverter / wiring effi ciency – 0.92, using long term average solar irradiation and temperature data from the Australian Solar Radiation Data Handbook.A typical Australian house consumes around 18 kilowatt hours (kWh) per day so a 1-2kW system displaces an average of 25-40% of your average electricity bill.Solar panels produce more energy in summer than they do in winter.

How does solar power work?

1. Solar panels convert sunlight into DC electricity.

2. The DC electricity is fed into your inverter which converts it into 240 volt AC electricity to power your home.

3. The electricity your system generates is recorded on a meter, any excess is immediately sent back to the grid.

4. At night, or if your demand exceeds what your home generates, power is drawn from the grid.
