AUSTRALIAN SINGLES REPORT
There’s a slight change at the top of the Artist Top 50 this week as Ed Sheeran’s Castle On The Hill loses its #1 spot to co-released hit Shape Of You, swapping places from #2. Andy Grammar’s Fresh Eyes takes a new peak at a big leap to #4 from #24 this week. It’s followed by Top 20 breakthroughs from PNAU and The Chainsmokers.
PNAU’s Chameleon enters at #13 from #26 following weeks of success on digital platforms and radio. The Chainsmokers debut at #20 with their new single Paris. It follows the track’s success on the Hot 100 (#10,), Spotify (#9) and iTunes (6).
Although it’s not a breakthrough, Sage The Gemini’s Now And Later moves to #16 from #19 on its third week in the chart. It’s likely that we’ll see continued slow progress from this track in the coming weeks as it’s only just not starting to gain traction in the country, its steady progress to #27 on the Hot 100 being an example of this.
Martin Garrix’s first hit of the year is Scared To Be Lonely ft. Dua Lipa. The mammoth track has already amassed 3.7 million Spotify streams in its three days since release. It’s a worthy successor to previous Platinum selling In The Name Of Love ft. Bebe Rexha, which has been streamed over 400 million times on Spotify alone.
Zara Larsson also sees a strong start to 2017 with new single So Good ft. Ty Dolla $ign. An undeniable pop hit, it’s shaping up to be a competition between it, Martin Garrix’s new track and Ariana Grande’s Dangerous for this week’s Most Added To Radio.

Alessia Cara cleans up on the Most Added chart this week with How Far I’ll Go, her track taken from the soundtrack to Disney’s Moana. Added to over 50 stations, it saw additions to the Hit Regional Network, ACE Radio Network and Nova Network’s Nights playlist, among others. Snakehips’ Don’t Leave is #2 following across the board additions from the entire Nova Network. Kaleo’s Way Down We Go takes out #3 following love from Ash London Live and the ACE Radio Network. Captain Cuts’ Love Like We Used To makes the most of a Nova Network addition at #4. Julia Michaels’ Issues enjoys another week in the chart following Ash London Live and various commercial Hit station additions.

Ed Sheeran holds #1 on the Hot 100 for a second week straight with Castle On The Hill while Shape Of You closes the gap at #2 from #3. Various artists achieved new peaks last week, starting with Andy Grammer’s Fresh Eyes at #5 from #6, as well as The Weeknd’s I Feel It Coming at #6 from #7. Starley and her international hit Call On Me crack the Top 10 at #8 from #13, as does Alessia Cara at #9 from #12 with Scars To Your Beautiful. The Chainsmokers round off the chart at #10 with new banger Paris, moving from its debut point of #38.
The big move puts the track at #2 on the Hot 100 Heatseekers chart, second only to Jax Jones’ You Don’t Know Me at #1. The track saw a jump to #45 from #78, earning a total of 33 places on the Hot 100. Leikeli47 is looking most likely to crack the Hot 100 next week as her track Money sits atop the Hot 100 breakers chart.
The triple j Spins Chart sees a lot of changes this week, starting with Clubfeet’s Canyons sitting at #1. Support for Slotface’s Empire Records has increased, as has its place in the chart, now at #2. The Spins Charts for Nova, Hit and Triple M all remain mostly uniform, with all three retaining the previous week’s #1’s. KIIS are the only major commercial stations to see a change with Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic moving to #1, replacing John Legend’s Love Me Now, which sits at #2.

Never Let Me Go is the latest single from Oberon bred space pop group Green Buzzard, taken from their forthcoming EP Space Man Rodeo. Never Let Me Go is a rare love song written from the perspective of Dewey Everglow, an anti-hero from Mars. He sent it back to his home planet through an SOS beacon whilst lost in space on his ship, SMR-77. Many space years later, it was intercepted by The Arcadian Space Control on Mars, where it was then properly recorded by his band Green Buzzard. It then went on to become an unlikely anthem of sorts at his favourite bar, Space Man Rodeo.

The Spotify Viral chart sees Pink Guy hold fast at #1 for another week with STFU while Julia Michaels debuts close behind at #2 with debut single Issues.
Issues also sees success on the still Ed Sheeran dominated Shazam Future Hits chart. Now sitting at #4, it leads ahead of Snakehips’ new single Don’t Leave and Slumberjack’s Fracture.
Julia Michaels also enjoys success on the Shazam Movers chart, coming out ahead of The Chainsmokers and Jax Jones at #1 with Issues.
NAO currently holds #1 on the Pandora Trendsetters chart, while various reoccurring artists shuffle within the Top 10. Khalid, at #7, has been relaxing in the top 10 of this chart for almost two months now after the viral success of breakout singles Location and Let Go.

Peking Duk are now one week shy of cracking ten weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 Australian chart. Their track Stranger ft. Elliphant has seen continued support form radio since its release late last year.
Norwegian punk outfit Slotface enjoy copious amounts of support from triple j. Their latest single Empire Records sits atop their Hit List while holding #2 on both the triple j Spins Chart, as well as the Hot 100 Alternative chart. Debuting at #1 on that chart is Dean Lewis however. His track Waves has had a strong start and is also currently #4 on the triple j Hit List.
Sia’s Move Your Body still dominates the AIR Singles chart but has now debuted at #3 on the Radio Play chart. Slumberjack score an entry at #2 with Fracture ft. Vera Blue, though it’s unlikely that they will be able to eclipse Sia’s latest hit.
Both Amrap Metro and Regional charts remain relatively untouched, with last week’s #1’s holding their spots.
