Dear Fellow Members 2015 was the 35 th Anniversary of our the Club, The Australian Anglo- Indian Rangers Club and we can look back on our progress as a club at that time. We had a grand dinner dance where many of our founder members and senior members of the club were able to bond together, meet and reflect on our great Club. It was a very nostalgic evening. Our other functions, Nite in Calcutta and our monthend functions have been well received. December has been a jolly month with our Christmas Tree, Seniors Lunch and our New Years’s Eve Dinner Dance. Our Christmas Tree, with Santa and Noodles the Clown had both Parents and Children bring in the Christmassy feeling. The seniors enjoyed a Sunday Roast at Springvale RSL with Christmas Carols. Our members and guests will bring in the New Year in a fine style with our gala dinner dance. We then are meeting with the Anglo-Indian World Reunion, 2016 which is being held in Sydney in Jan, 2016. A request from the organizers to ensure that your bookings are all confirmed. Later in January, 2016 AAIMRC together with the Anglo-Indian Association is hosting a carryover Mini Reunion in Melbourne. Details are on the next page. I would like to condole all those who have lost a loved one in the last six months and also wishing a speedy recovery to those members and friends who have not been well. Happy New Year!! Congratulations on another incredible year. We hope that the new one will bring just as much joy and good fortune to all. Thank you for all your support. .Glaxon Saunders President –AAIMRC MESSAGE FROM AUSTRALIAN ANGLO- INIDAN MELBOURNE RANGERS CLUB COMMITTEE MEMBERS: THANK YOU to all the members who contribute so much to the club; we owe you so much and without you the club would not function as well as it does. HIGHLIGHTS OF EVENTS IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS - 2015 35th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS: The Club completed 35 wonderful years. Last year we had a grand celebration with a gala dinner dance and all founder and senior members were invited to the function. We were able to accommodate all the founder committee members of the club who were presented with a small gift in token of appreciation for their role in the start up of the Melbourne Rangers Club. Senior Members who could make it to the anniversary function relived fond memories of years gone by and met old friends whom they had not met for ages. It was a heavily subsided function with sumptuous dinner and drinks and all members and guests had an enjoyable evening. In commemoration a gift was given to all members & guests. NITE IN CALCUTTA: Was a great success. The hawker-style stall was great and everyone enjoyed the street style food. This will continue to be our main attraction in the coming year. FATHER’S DAY: Was held in the 1st week of September, 2015 and was very well attended. The food was great and all the members and guests had a good time, especially the singing and then the dancing. PRESIDENT’S NITE: All members and guests were happy to show off their culinary talent. There was plenty of home cooked food and all members and guest who attended the function went home feeling great….. NOODLE-CHOW NITE: The Caterer was excellent and he served a great variety of snacks, noodles and fried rice. It was a total different experience with food. Members & Guests enjoyed a game of bingo and then danced thro’ the evening to the music of Glax the Sax and Ronnie Mayne. CHRISTMAS TREE : The Children and parents had a good time with “Noodles the Clown” and “Santa Claus”. Thanks to Sr. Margaret for putting on that extra smile on the kids by donating gifts to all the kids. Ronnie Mayne did an excellent work by organizing games for the kids and Children were happy to win prizes. SENIORS LUNCH: Was held on 20th December, 2015 which was a joint event with the Australian Anglo-Indian Association and was held at the Springvale RSL. It was a great afternoon with a carvery style buffet lunch. Members/guests enjoyed the carol singing, the excellent lunch and had a great afternoon which bought in the spirit of Christmas. NEW YEAR’S EVE DINNER DANCE: Tickets are selling well (this newsletter was already in printing, hence could not put in the highlights of the night)
