A guide to completing a C2 (Child) application form
for a British passport in Australia
The C2 application form is used for child applications under 16 years of age
Check to ensure you have used the correct form, and it is the most recent versionYou will find the form version on the back of the application form in the bottom right hand corner, opposite the signature box. It must be the most recent version, which can be downloaded free of charge from this website

Start with the top of the front page and complete your name and date of travel
Most applications take 3 – 4 weeks to processFirst time applications, by nature, are more complex and may take longer

If your parents are married, this section must be completed. Answers such as ‘Not known’ or ‘Can not remember’ will delay applications

If this is a first application, tick no and go to section 5
If you are renewing a British passport, you need to tick yes and include the passport with the application
If you have lost or had your passport stolen, you need to tick no and go to section 4
You need to write the previous passport number in the space provided here. NOTE: Only British passport numbers should be entered here
SECTION 4
If your previous passport has been lost or stolen you will need to complete this section fully
You will also have to complete an LSO1 form and include it with your passport application
If you have lost a British passport on more than one occasion you must give full details of all previous lost passports in section 6

You can use this section to give us any additional information
For example you may wish to have the passport delivered to an alternative address and you can tell us here
NOTE: Any alternative delivery address must be within Australia as we can not passports outside of the country of application
SECTION 7
Section 7 must be completed by the applicants parent or guardian by writing the applicants full name here
The applicants parent or guardian must also sign WITHIN the pink box, this is because the biometric passport issuing equipment will reject the application if any part of the signature is outside the box. The majority of failed applications are for this single reason
Finally if a parent has signed the application form they must indicate what their relationship to the child is

If the applicant is aged 12-15 years old they need to sign the application form WITHIN the pink box, this is because the biometric passport issuing equipment will reject the application if any part of the signature is outside the box. The majority of failed applications are for this single reason

Countersignatorys must sign the back of the applicants photos and complete and sign the declaration at Section 8
