The place to be seen in Sydney. Woolloomooloo's Otto is a decidedly authentic Italian restaurant that places a modern spin on more traditional dishes, and the generous view contains a bit of everything: the green Botanic Gardens, the busy city skyline and the harbour lapping against berthed yachts. It's a trendy place where you can indulge in a long lunch, some celeb-spotting and then hop aboard a luxury boat for a cruise down the harbour.

It is the attention to the front of house that makes Otto so special. It has taken over from older less central restaurants associal place on the water and is a testament to the restaurateur's art where the total package is more than the individual parts.

Kingsley's sort of follows the make-a-better-mousetrap dictum of restaurants: serve fresh, straightforward and excellent food in a lovely and welcoming setting and you are guaranteed a success.

The theme here may be tried and true: an American style composite of seafood and beef, but Kingsley's, with fine Angus beef properly grilled and aquariums of hyperactive crustacea, is a long way from Surf a crustacea, is a long way from Surf aavailability and season and come in a variety of presentations. The wine list is fine and well suited to the limited menu.
