DOES THE UNION DO ?’ We look after the interests of butchers, slaughterers, boners, slicers, smallgoods makers, packers, sales assistants and a range of other workers employed in butcher shops, abat-toirs, boning rooms, smallgoods factories, meat wholesalers and meat processing plants across Australia.

The Union influences many things that affect the working lives of many people, in fact, anyone who is employed. In order to do this we need workers to join the Union because this is the only source of income to the Union, and that income is then used to provide resources to the members. It is a constant cycle.

The Meat Workers Union, (AMIEU) is a specialist union for all workers in the red meat, poultry and dairy industries. We supply tools to both our members and non members alike, although our members do get a substantial discount on all products. We are a non profit organisation and our members pay at cost price for tools.
