    Letter from the Editors

    Dear All,

    2014 – what a year! The past 12 months have been an exciting time forboth us and our authors.

    Our titles have received international recognition, through both worldwide media exposure and nominations for prestigious bookprizes, such as The People’s Book Prize.

     We had a brilliant time at the London Book Fair in April, wherehundreds of our books were showcased to some of the key players inthe industry, and we relished the opportunity to catch up with someof you too!

    Throughout the year we embarked on many exciting new endeav-ours, including the production of book trailers and audio books – oneof the fastest growing mediums in today’s rapidly evolving publish-ing industry.

    September saw the launch of our new and improved website, and weenjoyed hearing so much of your positive feedback. We also beganproducing a new monthly newsletter, and we would like to take thisopportunity to thank those of you who have signed up so far.     How to Submit 

    Please submit your work on single-sided, numbered A4 pages. ext should be

    in a legible font, preferably 12pt imes New Roman or Arial, and lines should

    be double-spaced. If your manuscript is chaptered, please ensure that yourchapters are titled appropriately and that you include the working title of your

    manuscript.

    What your sample should include

    Covering letter

     Your covering letter should include your name, contact details (postal address,telephone number etc.), the proposed title of your work and, if applicable,

    some information regarding past writing experience.

    Synopsis and sample chapters

     When sending your synopsis (a detailed summary of your book), please bear

    in mind that this should be a short description of the plot, approximately

    400-500 words in length. You will also need to include a sample of your

    manuscript. We prefer for this to comprise three consecutive chapters.

    For non-chaptered work or poetry, please send approximately one third of

    your manuscript or collection.

    Helpful tips

    •  When submitting work, always provide a word count on your title

    page.

    • Ensure that your covering letter has been well written and that it

    includes a postal address and contact number.

    • Be sure to include information about previous relevant writing
