of Christian behavior”.
Religious Practice
My family had a lot of land disputes with the Putnam family. I was accused by Edward & John Putnam. My trial began on June 30th 1692 At the time of the trial Rebecca was 71 years old.
There is a testimony against Rebecca in the trials, claiming that she had murdered babies.
On June 30, the jury came back with a verdict of "Not Guilty. I was asked to explain my words "she is one of us," But I did not hear the
question. The jury took my silence as an indication of guilt. The jury deliberated a second time and came back with a verdict of guilty. I was sentenced to death on June 30. I was executed on July 19. (Hung)
