Hello! I’m sure you remember my Nickle & Dimed Challenge, the one that was pass/fail. Well, I passed!

But I can’t just leave it at that! You’ve followed everyone through the hardship part, so you deserve to see the happily ever after. And that’s what this little epilogue is: the happily ever after.

First things first: Choosing a venue for Ygraine and Nicholas’s wedding.

YGRAINE: I don’t know, dear. I don’t think so.BEAUDELAIRE: Oh, come on, Mom! It’s really great! This is perfect! What’s not to like?YGRAINE: Well, let’s just look around and see what else is out there, shall we?

BEAUDELAIRE: Aw, come on, Mom? This one? It’s so… bland. Boring. Not even a little bit interesting.YGRAINE: You want interesting? Try raising two kids alone on no money. I’m perfectly okay with boring, thanks.

This would be the point at which Beaudelaire met his betrothed, and she agreed to marry him.

This is also the point where Genevive met her brother’s fiancée’s ex, Mr. Big himself, Alec London. So now you know.

Then it was time for the pre-wedding shopping and makeovers, now that the family can afford it.

I think we can agree that the results, although not dramatic, are very nice and very well suited to Ygraine.

Ygraine got her wedding at the venue she liked best. As is only fitting – after all, it’s her wedding, not Beaudelaire’s.

Happy couple is happy.

Genevive caught the bouquet.

And after an appropriate interval…

…tradition kicked in.

Beaudelaire found the venue excruciatingly boring, but once again, that didn’t matter.

Happy couple is happy, regardless of grumpy little brothers or peculiar guests.

Beaudelaire finally got to attend a wedding in a venue that he approved of.

And a third happy couple is happy.

Even the toughest critic in town couldn’t find anything to disapprove of with either the wedding or the venue.

MRS. CRUMPLEBOTTOM (sniffs): What this place needs is more booze!

Okay, hardly anything.

Genevive went to law school, funded by Beaudelaire, in accordance with his Life Plan.*

Genevive and Alec remained child-free by choice, but they were quite happy.

Genevive and Alec have been taken out of the rotation, and may or may not someday become the owners of a community lot or two just so I can control what the staff looks like.

I’ve skipped a step in Beaudelaire’s Life Plan. Step One was “Win the lottery,” and Step Three was “Pay for Genevive to go to law school.”

Step Two was “Buy Mom a new house.” This was also accomplished.

Step Four was “Open a casino,” which Beaudelaire did. It has everything a sim could ever want, including showers, food, coffee, and lots and lots of games that never pay anyone a penny.

Beaudelaire and Pitti-Sing have been taken out of the rotation to run the casino. Or I suppose I should say the “casino,” since it isn’t a real casino with actual gambling, although I believe there are mods that allow that.

There are mods out there for darn near everything.

Speaking of Beaudelaire and Pitti-Sing, I haven’t forgotten about them. Beaudelaire is pretty heavily Family, and Pitti-Sing has a Family secondary, so they set about starting their family without any delay.

They had two children, one of each, and the whole extended family were frequent visitors as Ygraine and Nicholas’ house.

The older child is Lena, and she went through four life stages. I think she looks an awful lot like Pitti-Sing – I honestly can’t see what Beaudelaire contributed to her genetics at all.

The younger child is Ansel, and he inherited his father’s skintone and his aunt’s hairdo.

In my defense, I didn’t realize it was the same hairstyle until Ansel was a Child. Is it my fault that people with similar genetics tend to look good in similar things?

Ygraine had a happy life in a real house with a man who loved her and didn’t have a thing about invisible telepathic rabbit ninjas* until tub pirating caught up with her at the age of 75.

Nicholas was a bit younger than Ygraine, but the hula zombies came for him too, at the ripe old age of 74.

I had to quit without saving during the second death, because it occurred while someone was calling the house on the phone. The game auto-saves when the last sim dies, and saving with a sim on the other end of the phone is a VBT. When I reloaded, the first thing I did was delete all the phones in the house. Problem solved!

And that’s the end of Auspicious It Ain’t! I like being able to wrap up the happy endings and tie them off neatly.
