AURA REFLEC TOR LONG L IFE

Aura Reflector Long Life is tri-phosphor lamps with very good

colour rendering. The lamp is developed for use in applications

where a sufficient level of light has to be available from only

the lamp itself, either through direct light, but in some applica-

tions also with indirect reflection. The design with an integrated

horizontal reflecting layer inside an outer glass tube can offer

up to 60% more light in certain directions, for instance when

there is no reflector in the luminaire.

This lamp is designed for applications such as sign lighting,

cold stores, outdoor lighting, car parks and industrial facilities

(e.g. car industry, colour industry, sawmills, foundries).

Lifetime

A lamps service life is defined as the elapsed time when the

amount of light in an installation reaches 80% of its initial

100 hour value. According to IEC/EN 60081, the service life of

the lamp failure rate and the lumen depreciation is calculated

based on the lamp being operated with a switching cycle of

three hours.

The three hour switching cycle is defined as having the

lamp switched on for two hours and 45 minutes and then

switched off for 15 minutes.

A switching cycle that is more close to common use is the

12 hour switching cycle, this is defined as having the lamp swit-

ched on for 11 hours and then switched off for one hour, and

the lifetime shown is accounted for 10% mortality.

Technical information

There are two types available; Aura Ultimate Reflector Long

Life (T8) with an outer glass tube of Ø 38 mm and Aura Supreme

Reflector Long Life with an outer glass tube of Ø 26 mm.

Aura Ultimate Reflector Long Life is designed for luminaires

developed and assembled for T8 fluorescent lamp but the

extra width of the outer glass tube needs to be taken into

account. The lamp is operated with electronic ballast (preferably

warm start) or magnetic ballast with starter.

Aura Supreme Reflector Long Life is designed for lumin-

aires developed and assembled for T5 fluorescent lamps but

the extra width of the outer glass tube needs to be taken into

account. The lamp is designed for operation with electronic

ballast (preferably warm start).

The Aura Reflector Long Life range is high colour rendering

tri-phosphor lamps (Ra 85) and available in several colours.

Overview

Aura Reflector Long Life lamps are an optimal solution in app-

lications where the reflectors are dirty or missing, or in dusty

environments where lamp replacement is difficult. The lamp

can also be used as an indirect source of light, directed into

the luminaire or onto the ceiling.

Aura Reflector Long Life lamps have a Long Life fluorescent

lamp cased in an outer glass tube, similar to the Aura Thermo

Long Life lamp. A part of the outer glass tube, 160°, has a

reflecting layer. The thermal insulation of Aura Reflector Long

Life results in excellent high light output at low temperatures.

Group replacement of fluorescent lamps provides an optimal

control of operational costs and gives a uniform level of light.

For economical and environmental reasons Aura Light recom-

mends group replacement of Long Life fluorescent lamps.

Long Life technology

Aura Reflector Long Life is developed based on our patented

cathode shield construction. This design provides a unique flu-

orescent lamp with an exceptional long service life combined

with an improved end-of-life protection against overheating.

The lumen depreciation process is minimized with a protection

layer inside the glass tube.

Long Life guarantee

Aura Light guarantees 48,000 hours service life (Magnetic

ballast + Starter) and 70,000 hours (Electronic ballast, warm

start) for Aura Reflector Long Life for installations that comply

with the relevant standards.

Aura Reflector Long Life is developed and manufactured

in accordance with the IEC/EN 60081-standard. Continuous

strict quality control processes secure fluorescent lamps of top

quality.
